She is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Bruce Wilcox, her Mother and Father, Matilda (nee Clasper) and Sydney Ballinger and her Brother, Harry Ballinger and Sister, Jean Clark VonHolt (nee Ballinger).

Ann was born in London, England in 1932 and raised in Scarsdale, NY. As a young woman, she attended Skidmore College, and in 1954 graduated with a BA in English. She later received a MA from Villanova University in Theater, where she eventually worked in the Theater department and later the Department of International Studies, retiring in 1993. She also worked as church office manager at Trinity Episcopal Church in Ambler, PA and Saint Martin’s Episcopal Church in Radnor, PA.

After the family retired from Naval active duty in 1960, Bruce and Ann relocated to Horsham, PA, by way of Norristown, PA, where they lived until 1973 when they moved to Berwyn, PA, followed by 28 years at Hershey’s Mill in West Chester, PA. Ann and Bruce have lived at Echo Lake in Malvern, PA since August 2019.

Following retirement, Ann enjoyed time with her grandchildren and volunteering for various church groups and the West Chester Historical Society. She stayed active on her Skidmore class reunion panel for several years and playing in the Bell choir at Trinity Episcopal Church in West Chester, PA. However, she enjoyed her time with her family in the sun, sand, and surf on Long Beach Island, NJ and in Bermuda the most.

Ann will be laid to rest 4-Mar-2023 in the church yard at St Peter’s Episcopal Church in the Great Valley (Malvern, PA). A memorial service will be held for both Ann and Bruce in the fall at Bruce’s family burial site, West Branch Cemetery (Wellsboro, Tioga County, PA).

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in her name to the Wounded Warrior Project, which she so greatly loved and patronized.
