-

Frank Waller, 86, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on February 28, 2023 surrounded by his family. He was born in Laurel, DE, the son of the late Carrie (Ellen) Sirman Waller and Gertha Manson Waller. He was preceded in death by his high school sweetheart and wife of 58 years, Janet Lee (Keller) Waller, and his sister, Dorothy (Waller) Banks.

Frank graduated from Laurel High School, where he lettered in three sports and played the trombone. He attended the University of Delaware and earned his BS in Civil Engineering in 1958 and served as an officer in the United States Ordinance Corps. He later earned an MS in Civil Engineering from the University of Maryland and took a semester-long specialized engineering course at Harvard. He started his engineering career with J.E. Greiner Company before moving to WoodwardClyde Consultants, where he spent the remaining 36 years of his career. He was known for his hard work, integrity and commitment to excellence as an engineer, the manager of the Philadelphia office and finally the Chairman of the Board. He retired in 1998 after 40 years.

During his adult years, Frank was blessed to live in three wonderful communities: Thornton, PA; Denver, Colorado; and Bluffton, SC. He was quiet in nature but active in church and civic organizations. He had many long term friendships and enjoyed a rousing game of cards, a variety of sports (golf being his favorite), and a good belly laugh (especially if it involved a cat). His greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Although he battled many health challenges the last 15 years of his life, his perseverance was a testament to his deep faith in God and a source of inspiration to all who knew him.

He is dearly loved and will forever be missed by those who survive him: children, Bradley H. Waller, Pamela W. Bonney (Kent), Gregory R. Waller (Wynne); grandchildren Lauren E. Winkelhake (Ryan), Kaitlin L. Kirby (Jonathon), Nathaniel K. Bonney, Megan C. Waller, Alison C. Waller, Sarah C. Waller; and great grandchildren Kenzie L. Winkelhake and Micah K. Winkelhake.

A celebration of Frank’s life will be held at a future date in April 2023. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bethlehem United Methodist Church, Thornton, PA; Westminster Presbyterian Church, West Chester, PA; or Lowcountry Presbyterian Church, Bluffton, SC.
