Christopher J. Takacs

Christopher Joseph Takacs of West Whiteland Township unexpectedly passed away in his sleep on May 26, 2023 at age 52. He is survived by his father Ronald, and predeceased by his mother Adrianna and brother Kevin. He is also survived by the love of his life Jill Hunsberger, his beloved Aunt and Uncle Kathy and Bruce Ferrentino of Andover NJ, cousins Ashley and Chris Miller, their sons Zachary and Andrew, and cousin Tyler Ferrentino of Morristown NJ.

Born in Passaic NJ, Chris moved with his family to West Whiteland in 1975, graduated from Henderson High School, and then from Penn State University with a degree in finance and had been employed in the finance department of Cooper University Medical Center.

A loving and cherished son and brother, he was a genuine and kind person who turned casual conversations into lasting friendships and would never pass an opportunity to help another. He was very passionate about his beliefs, wasn’t hesitant to let people know how he felt, and with educated opinions on most any topic he could hold his own discussing anything, from politics and world events to the merits of best types of tofu. His ready smile, sense of humor and insight will be deeply missed by everyone who knew him.

He developed a deep love of the outdoors instilled by family camping outings as a child, and then by many annual ‘mens only’ camping trips with his father and brother. In 2008 he gave in to his wanderlust and completed a Georgia to Maine thru-hike of the Appalachian trail, and a year later finished hiking the challenging Pacific Crest Trail from Mexico to Canada. The happiest moments of his life, however, were those spent with his beloved Jill, whether enjoying concerts together, at the shore, hiking French Creek State Park, or simply sharing time in front of the fireplace.

He was an avid supporter of domestic violence awareness programs in Chester and Montgomery counties, and an animal rights activist and member of Animal Defenders of Lehigh Valley and participated in numerous animal rights vigils throughout the area.

At the families’ request, funeral and burial services will be private.
