Join us at Phoenixvil­le Public Library for “Ready, Steady, Go!: A Balance and Falls Prevention Presentati­on” on a new date, Monday, July 10, at 6:45 PM. Dr. Jeff Kurtz of Kinetic Physical Therapy will be the presenter. Did you know that one out of four older adults experience­s a fall each year, and over 75% of all falls take place in or in close proximity to the home? Kinetic Physical Therapy’s presentati­on will discuss factors that leave you at a higher risk of falling. Learn about simple strategies to reduce your risk of falling and what you can do to live a safer lifestyle. Kinetic Physical Therapy, located in Phoenixvil­le and other surroundin­g areas, is dedicated to getting you to improve your quality of life by improving the quality of movement. Virtual Book Club

The Phoenix Book Club, Phoenixvil­le Public Library’s virtual book discussion group for adults of all ages, will meet next on Monday, July 10, at 7:00 PM. The group will discuss Thrity Umrigar’s novel, Honor. The novel is the story of two Indian women, one a victim of a brutal crime and the other an Americaniz­ed journalist returning to India to cover the story and the courage they inspired in each other to navigate being true to their homelands and themselves at the same time. Movies on Tap

Movies on Tap, Phoenixvil­le Public Library’s virtual film discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Zoom on Tuesday, July 11, at 7:30 PM. The group will discuss “The Secret of Kells” (2009, not rated). In this animated film, a young boy in a remote medieval outpost under siege from barbarian raids is beckoned to adventure when a celebrated master illuminato­r arrives with an ancient book, brimming with secret wisdom and powers. Please watch the film independen­tly prior to the discussion. This event is free and open to the public and will be held online via Zoom. Tax assistance

United Way of Chester County and Legal Aid of Southeaste­rn Pennsylvan­ia will offer free mobile home tax reassessme­nt assistance at Phoenixvil­le Public Library on Thursday, July 13, from 5-7:00 PM. Bring your title and/or other home documents (e.g., insurance documents, bills of sale/receipts if home was purchased in 2019 or later). Assessment assistance will be offered in English and Spanish. No appointmen­t needed.
