Downingtown West softball blanks Great Valley

Ava Kaczmarski had two hits, including a home run, as Downingtown West cruised to a 10-0 victory in five innings over Great Valley in Ches-Mont League softball action Wednesday.

Casey McWilliams, Lizzie Kern, Jordan Toth, Taylor Hendricks and Olivia Gardner drove in single runs each.

Addison Carter struk out nine in three innings without allowing a hit to earn the win.

Girls Lacrosse

UNIONVILLE 11 >> Audrey Argonish, Monica Krause and Lucy Daley notched three goals each as the Vikings recorded the Ches-Mont win. Ady Caton scored twice, while Jordan Colston and Sydney Krause added a goal apiece. Madelyn Morris made eight saves. Kiki Glackin led the Longhorns with four goals.

Kennett 8, Bishop Shanahan 6 >> Marissa Herring had three goals and Quinn Simmons added a pair as the Blue Demons triumphed in the Ches-Mont contest. Mary Carroll, Noelle Foster and Maeve Wells had single tallies. Mia Matthews, Claire Pruitt, Molly Sallurday, Monica Mcknight and goalie Kailtlyn Snoke were standouts defensively. Gillian Greco and Fiona Duncheskie paced the Eagles with a pair of goals each. CONESTOGA 12, GARNET VALLEY 7 >> Chole Brown registered three goals to help the Pioneers (9-2) to the Central League victory. Ellie Wisch, Georgia Rios, Kiki Liebezeit

and Keating Hopkins recorded two goals apiece. Alex Lepore collected 10 saves.

Mark Dolente had three goals and Clif Hawkins tallied once for the Pioneers in the Central League defeat.

Baseball

WESTTOWN 10, ANC 1 >> Cooper Speacht, Breydan Hossack, Luke Holgate, Jackson Young and Adriano Lewis had two hits each for the Moose (3-2 FSL, 4-2). Speacht drove in two runs and pitched six innings for the win.

College Men’s Lacrosse

IMMACULATA 21, NEUMANN 12 >>

The Immaculata men’s lacrosse team picked up an Atlantic East Conference victory over Neumann by a score of 21-12 on the road this afternoon. Immaculata led from wire to wire in the contest, with Ryan Gorman opening up the scoring just under five minutes into the game. David Azzarano connected with Joseph Biuso for a pair of consecutive goals to give the Mighty Macs a 3-0 lead. Azzarano would find the back of the net himself minutes later making it a 4-1 game. Bailey Manion and Ben Wesolowski added goals in the period to give the Macs a 6-3 lead after the first period. Bailey Manion tied a program record for goals in a single game with eight goals on the day, he would also add an assist to lead the team with nine points.
