JASON THOMPSON
the 200 meters, long jump, triple jump and 4x100 relay events. Not only did he compete, he started to win.
The highlight of the season came at the Arcadia Invitational on May 8 when he won the triple jump with a leap of 47 feet, 2 inches, which was the state’s top mark at the time.
He later became the Mission League champion in the long jump (22-1), the triple jump (4410 ⁄ ) and the 4x100 relay (42.72 seconds).
Thompson is being recruited by colleges as a wide receiver and he has already received offers from several NCAA Division I programs, including Arizona State, Arizona, UNLV and multiple Ivy League schools. He carries a 3.7 GPA and will return for his senior year as one of the best two-sport athletes in the state.

Summary: Call him Jason or call him JT, it doesn’t matter. What’s important is that Jason Thompson’s name was mentioned a lot this spring as he emerged as one of the area’s best overall athletes with his performances in football and track and field.
The speedy junior was named the Del Rey League MVP for football after he racked up 924 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns in six games during the abbreviated season. Thompson scored five touchdowns in a 58-40 triumph over La Salle en route to a 6-0 campaign for Harvard-Westlake under new coach Aaron Huerta.
