Roe's fall is good for all of America

- — Rick Reiss, Temecula — Joseph F. Paggi Jr., Pasadena — Helen Nees, Dove Canyon

In the aftermath of the Supreme Court's ruling in the Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization case, and what with all of the angst, sound and fury emanating from the abortion-on-demand lobby, perhaps it's time for you all to admit that Roe v. Wade has always been nothing more than a social construct. Yet it's becoming quite apparent that in the eyes of the abortion-on-demand lobby, some social constructs are more equal than others.

In the meantime, on June 24, the United States of America just earned back a little piece of its soul.

The Biden/Trump debate

Re “Can they both just go away?” (June 26):

I agree with Mr. Rodriguez's conclusion that neither Biden nor Trump is fit to be our president.

But I don't believe Biden's age is the overwhelming reason. He is a lifetime professional politician whose sole goal is to be re-elected. I refer to him as an “empty suit.”

No character, no basic values. His only gift appears to be schmoozing. Trump's suit is over-stuffed by selfish self regard.

I only voted for him because his opponent was an unthinkable choice.

It was also a signal that we had no stomach for the same ol', same ol' perpetuated by the career politicians of either party.

No need now to further extend his sel- glorification of heedless abandon.

Perhaps Gov. Jared Polis is an able leader, despite his progressive leanings, capable of meaningful compromise to accomplish good things.

We'll see.

Overturning Roe was the right call; abortion should be left to states to decide

Overturning Roe was the right thing for the Supreme Court to do.

It should have never been decided by the Supreme Court.

What do do about the legality of abortion should've been left to the states to decide.

I think this is finally a wrong that has been made right.

Now each state can figure out how they want to handle abortion. One thing I don't understand is why people in states where abortion is legal are protesting.

If you feel so strongly about this issue, you can always put your money where your mouth is and donate to organizations to help these women.
