Riley’s big night leads Braves over Red Sox

Austin Riley had a goahead, two-run single in the 11th inning and the Atlanta Braves rallied for a 9-7 win over the Boston Red Sox on Tuesday night at Fenway Park.

Riley also hit his 30th home run of the season, a towering, two-run shot over the Green Monster, and an RBI triple to help the Braves snap their first three-game losing streak of the year.

Jarren Duran, Christian Arroyo and Tommy Pham homered for the Red Sox, who have lost three straight and five of six.

With automatic runner Michael Harris II on second base in the 11th, Ronald Acuña Jr. singled and then stole second, setting up Riley’s hit.

Braves starter Charlie Morton allowed five runs and six hits over six innings. He struck out seven and yielded all three Boston homers. The righthande­r has just one win in his past 11 outings.

Boston lefty Rich Hill was pulled after giving up four runs and seven hits over four innings.

METS 6, REDS 2 » Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil both homered and drove in two runs, leading Carlos Carrasco and New York past visiting Cincinnati.

Carrasco (13-4) pitched into the seventh inning and struck out nine to win his fifth straight decision and tie for the National League lead in wins.

He allowed two runs on seven hits and one walk.

Lindor became the first Mets shortstop with multiple 20-homer seasons when he opened the scoring with a two-run shot in the third.

Darin Ruf laced a tworun single in the seventh for the Mets, who have won 14 of 16. They maintained their seven-game lead in the NL East over Atlanta. PHILLIES 4, MARLINS 1 » J.T. Pérez (9-3) gave up seven runs in five-plus innings to snap a nine-game winning streak. He had gone 19 straight starts without a loss, with his last one coming on April 17.

ROCKIES 16, CARDINALS 5 » Ryan McMahon hit a 495foot homer for the longest drive by a Colorado player at Coors Field and Randal Grichuk went 5 for 5 with three RBIs in a rout which ended St. Louis’ sevengame winning streak.

Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas was tagged for 10 runs and 14 hits in just 2 2/3 innings.

C.J. Cron homered and doubled to drive in five runs and Grichuk also connected as Colorado piled up 22 hits.

McMahon’s two-run homer in the seventh off T.J McFarland was the fourthlong­est in Coors Field history.

Bo Bichette hit two homers for Toronto, including a three-run shot in the sixth. GUARDIANS 5, TIGERS 2 » Shane Bieber pitched seven dominant innings, Oscar Gonzalez drove in two runs and Cleveland defeated host Detroit for its third straight win.

Bieber (7-6) allowed just four singles and a walk while striking out eight. BREWERS 5, RAYS 3 » Andrew McCutchen and Kolten Wong each drove in two runs and host Milwaukee beat Tampa Bay.

The Brewers won for just the second time in eight games. They’re 2-5 and have fallen out of first place in the NL Central since trading four-time AllStar closer Josh Hader to the Padres last week.

Milwaukee’s Freddy Peralta (4-2) struck out four while allowing two runs, two hits and no walks over five innings.
