Local teams set for CIF-SS, L.A. City Section basketball and soccer finals

The schedules for the CIF Southern Section and L.A. City Section boys and girls basketball finals have been released, along with ticket prices and parking informatio­n.

The CIF Southern Section boys and girls soccer finals are set, too.

A number of local teams will compete for a chance to win a coveted CIF championsh­ip this weekend.

CIF-SS basketball

The Sierra Canyon girls basketball team, led by McDonald's AllAmerica­n Juju Watkins, will play in its second straight Open Division final against Etiwanda at Honda Center on Saturday at 6 p.m. The boys Open Division final between Corona Centennial and St. John Bosco will be played at 8 p.m. Saturday at Honda Center.

General admission for games at Honda Center is $22. High school students with identifica­tion and children (13-5 years old) are $12. Parking is $20.

Mira Costa High will play host for the other area teams in the Southern Section boys and girls basketball finals Saturday.

The Oak Park girls will face St. Monica Prep in the Division 5A final at 10 a.m. The Valencia boys will take on St. Bonaventur­e in the Division 4AA final at 2 p.m. The Hart girls will face La Salle in the Division 2AA final at 4 p.m.

The Oakwood boys and girls teams will play back to back. The girls will play Notre Dame Academy in the Division 2A final at 6 p.m. before the boys take on San Gabriel Academy in the finale at 8 p.m. for the Division 3A crown.

L.A. City basketball

The City Section Open Division and Division I finals are set for Pasadena City College on Saturday.

Sun Valley Poly and LACES will play in the Division I girls final at noon, and Grant and Venice play in the Division I boys final at 2 p.m.

Granada Hills will face Westcheste­r in the Open girls final at 5 p.m. Taft and Fairfax will be the main event in the Open Division boys final at 7 p.m.

Washington Prep will take on Vaughn in the Division III girls final at 6 p.m. and Eagle Rock faces South Gate in the Division II boys final at 8 p.m. in a doublehead­er at Birmingham Charter on Thursday.

Chatsworth will take on San Pedro in the Division II girls final at 6 p.m. and Arleta faces Garfield in the Division III boys final at 8 p.m. in a doublehead­er at Venice High on Friday.

CIF-SS soccer

Harvard-Westlake's girls soccer team will play Hart in the Division 2 final at College of the Canyons on Friday at 5 p.m.

Moorpark's girls soccer team will take on Marina in the Division 3 final at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Long Beach on Saturday at 11 a.m.

On the boys side, Quartz Hill will host Los Alamitos in the Division 3 final at Antelope Valley College on Thursday at 5 p.m. Littlerock will host Orange Lutheran in the Division 4 title match Thursday at 4 p.m.

St. Genevieve will play Oxford Academy at Artesia High on Saturday at 5 p.m. in the Division 7 final.

L.A. City soccer

The City Section boys and girls soccer finals have not been determined yet.

The girls semifinals — El Camino Real vs. Palisades and Granada Hills vs. Cleveland — will be played today.

The boys semifinals — Birmingham vs. Taft and El Camino Real vs. Palisades — will be played Wednesday. All matches are scheduled for 3 p.m.

The City finals will be played at L.A. Valley College on Saturday. Times have not been determined.
