Celebrate Women’s History Month in the L.A. area

- By Allyson Vergara avergara@scng.com

March is Women’s History Month, honoring the contributions women continue to make in society, culture and everyday life.

From making strides in politics and on the big screen, to pushing for social justice causes in their communities — women are present, and local organizations and individuals celebrate their diversity and strength.

Today, International Women’s Day, recognizes the global women’s rights movement. The event calls to light ongoing issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, domestic abuse and violence against women.
