Sizzling Celtics blast Warriors for 11th victory in row

Jaylen Brown scored 29 points, Jayson Tatum had 27 and the NBA-best Boston Celtics posted their third-largest winning margin in franchise history, drubbing the weary visiting Golden State Warriors 140-88 on Sunday.

Boston extended its season-best winning streak to 11 games. The Celtics led by a franchise-record 44 points at halftime and pushed it to 51 early in the third quarter before coach Joe Mazzulla went to his reserves the rest of the way.

Stephen Curry didn’t play the second half and finished with a season-low four points for Golden State. He was 2 of 13 from the field Sunday and missed all nine of his 3-point attempts.

The Warriors had won 11 of 13, including the first three of their East Coast trip that included three games in four days.

Lester Quinones led Golden State with 17 points in a team-high 33 minutes. None of the Warriors’ starters played more than 20 minutes.

Boston’s only bigger blowout wins were 133-77 at Chicago on Dec. 8, 2018, and 128-75 over visiting Sacramento on Jan. 25, 2022.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had 35 points and Oklahoma City won at Phoenix to take the Western Conference lead, rebounding after blowing a 24-point lead.

Jusuf Nurkic broke the Suns’ franchise record with 31 rebounds. He also had 14 points — and five of Phoenix’s 21 turnovers.

The Suns played without star guard Devin Booker after he sprained his right ankle in a loss to

Houston on Saturday.

Oklahoma City improved to 42-18 to take a half-game lead over Northwest Division rivals Denver and Minnesota in the Western Conference.

Bradley Beal scored 31 points for Phoenix.

Josh Hart had a tripledoub­le, Donte DiVincenzo scored 28 points and New York regrouped to win at Cleveland after losing AllStar guard Jalen Brunson in the first minute with a bruised left knee.

Hart finished with 13 points, 19 rebounds and 10 assists.

Sam Merrill and Jarrett Allen scored 18 apiece for the Cavs, who played without leading scorer Donovan Mitchell (sore knee).
