Cavaliers top visiting Timberwolv­es in OT

Darius Garland scored 34 points, Jarrett Allen added a career-high 33 and 18 rebounds and the injury-thinned Cleveland Cavaliers handed the NBA's best road team a loss, beating the Minnesota Timberwolv­es 113-104 in overtime Friday night.

Allen made 15 free throws, including 14 after halftime. He scored 10 points in OT as the Cavs outscored the Timberwolv­es 16-7.

Cleveland was without starters Donovan Mitchell, Evan Mobley and Max Strus because of injuries but had enough to down the Western Conference­leading Timberwolv­es.

Naz Reid scored a career-high 34 for Minnesota, which came in a leaguebest 21-11 on the road.

WIZARDS 112, HORNETS 100 >>

Kyle Kuzma scored 28 points and Washington snapped its 16-game losing streak with a home victory over Charlotte.

The Wizards had matched a team record of 16 consecutiv­e losses set during the 2009-10 season. The Hornets now have the NBA's longest active skid at six games despite a 32-point, 12-rebound effort from Miles Bridges.

One game after squanderin­g a 21-point secondquar­ter lead against Orlando, the Wizards let a 15-point advantage get away and trailed by 10 late in the third quarter.

But Washington led 8582 after a 17-4 run and was able to close out its first victory since Jan. 29 at San Antonio. The Wizards hadn't won at home since Dec. 29 against Brooklyn.

Jalen Brunson scored 26 points in his return from a bruised left knee and host New York snapped Orlando's five-game winning streak.

Precious Achiuwa had 15 points, 14 rebounds and five blocked shots for the Knicks.

Paolo Banchero had 23 points and nine rebounds for the Magic.

Zion Williamson had 23 points and 12 rebounds to lead visiting New Orleans over a Philadelph­ia team spiraling without injured All-Stars Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey.

Tobias Harris had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Sixers, who lost for the 15th time in 21 games.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 23 of his 37 points in the second half and Oklahoma City overcame a 14-point deficit to beat visiting Miami.

Jaime Jaquez Jr. scored 25 points for the Heat.

Dejounte Murray had 41 points, seven rebounds and six assists and Atlanta won at Memphis for its third win in a row.
