Inhabitant­s of Honkland have pet peeves, and many answered Honk's call and sent theirs along:

Stan Martin of Huntington Beach doesn't like it when turn signals are not used. Stephen Peeler of Laguna Niguel chips in: “Really, how tough is it to move your little pinky to hit the turn indicator? Show some considerat­ion.” …

Bob Arneal of Yorba Linda: “Bicyclists on their pricey road racers in their full athletic regalia who demand the respect of lawabiding drivers, yet blithely blast through red lights and stop signs after a quick glance around, barely slowing down.” …

“Tint on the windows looks so cool, especially the driver's side window,” says Patricio Murman of Prescott, Arizona. “Yes, sir, it's great that I can't make eye contact with your phone-scrolling face to make sure you're seeing me about to make a turn. … I know you cops out there are pretty busy, but let's get the ticket book out.” …

Ana isn't keen on vehicles without front license plates. “By my observatio­n,” he says, “the more expensive the car, the more likely there will be no plate.” …

“What is it with people stopping one-plus car lengths behind the limit line?” wonders Kathy Epeneter in San Juan Capistrano. “Drives me nuts!”

“I get very irritated at those electric-scooter drivers who do not obey any applicable traffic law. … Riding down the middle of the street, crossing streets against the light, speeding along sidewalks,” says Scott Irwin of Fullerton. …

Yolanda H. Lickson of Cypress doesn't like to see dogs in drivers' laps: “Can't imagine seeing a beloved pet slam against a window.” …

“My town, Costa Mesa, is doing an excellent job of expanding dedicated bike lanes all across our fair city,” Jeff Diercksmei­er says. “My pet peeve? The large percentage of bike riders, human propelled and e-bikers, who ride the WRONG way in these bike lanes.” …

Ro Pulig of Lake Forest: “My pet peeve is being honked at from behind when I'm stopped at a red light to make a right turn, and the signs clearly state, `NO TURNS AT RED LIGHT.' Yes, I can see that it's safe to turn, but I'm not going to get a ticket for turning on a red light.” …

Big rigs with trailers that show up in the fast and or even carpool lane bother Huntington Beach's Chuck DeMarti. …

Donald Hilliard Jr. of Anaheim doesn't like “noisy cars that have presumably had their emission systems illegally modified.” …

Altadena's Andrea Davis' pet peeves is one of Honk's: “Pedestrian­s striding across roadways without looking around, and parents who teach their children to walk on the walk sign without teaching them to constantly evaluate driver attention and pre-determine their bodily safety to cross.” …

And Carol Bobke of Mission Viejo says, “Single drivers who illegally use the carpool lane on the 405 through Irvine, and people who feel it's OK to cut in line at the last second to get on the freeway.” force is extremely motivated and interested and knowledgea­ble about AI,” he said. “I look forward to working with the members of the task force as well as both the Republican and Democratic caucus members in the committee's jurisdicti­on to try to navigate our way through this very large, complicate­d issue of artificial intelligen­ce.”

Democratic members include Reps. Yvette Clarke of New York, Bill Foster of Illinois, Suzanne Bonamici of Oregon, Don Beyer of Virginia, Alexandria OcasioCort­ez of New York, Haley Stevens of Michigan, Valerie Foushee of North Carolina and Brittany Pettersen of Colorado.

Republican­s include French Hill of Arkansas, Michael Cloud of Texas, Neal Dunn of Florida, Ben Cline of Virginia, Kat Cammack of Florida, Scott Franklin of Florida, Eric Burlison of Missouri, Laurel Lee of Florida and Rich McCormick of Georgia.
