Virginia Tech landed its second recruit in the Class of 2021 from Hampton Roads on Saturday when Cox’s Isi Etute committed to the Hokies.

Etute, a 6-foot-3, 205pound linebacker, is regarded as a three-star recruit by 247Sports and as a two-star recruit by Rivals. He made his announcement in a Twitter video, choosing the Hokies after drawing more than a dozen scholarship offers, including those from Virginia, N.C. State, Wake Forest, West Virginia and Old Dominion.

Etute led Cox in tackles last season as a junior with 70 and intercepted four passes — returning two for touchdowns. He also played receiver last season, catching 11 passes for 246 yards.

Etute is the third South Hampton Roads player to commit to Virginia Tech during the past two signing classes, joining Cox receiver Tayvion Robinson (2019) and Green Run receiver Lakeem Rudolph this year.
