Emily Irene Longenecke­r and William Chapman Andrews IV were joined in marriage on December 28, 2019 at 4:00pm at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Hampton, Virginia. The Reverends Mark D. Riley and Rodney L. Caulkins officiated.

Emily is the daughter of Mrs. Ruth Irene Lowry of Hampton, Virginia and Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hershey Longenecke­r, Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio. She is the granddaugh­ter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Garnet Rounding of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada and the late Mr. and Mrs. Mark Hershey Longenecke­r of Akron, Ohio.

William is the son of Judge William Chapman Andrews III and Sally James Andrews of Williamsbu­rg, Virginia, formerly of Hampton. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Chapman Andrews, Jr. of Newport News, Virginia and the late Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Eldon James of Hampton, Virginia.

Emily was escorted down the aisle by her father. Jennifer Allen Wiltgen served as matron of honor. Bridesmaid­s were Anne Hampton Andrews Haynes, sister of the groom, Natawnee Jaclyn Fritz, Stephanie Jackson Adams, and Alison Paige Sanders, friends of the bride.

The Honorable William Chapman Andrews III, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Bryan Michael Haynes, brother-in-law of the groom, Mark Hershey Longenecke­r, III, brother of the bride, Gregory Ernest Koch and Richard Chandler Vogel, friends of the groom.

Miss Penelope Giovanna and Miss Soraya Elizabeth Trueheart, flower girls, preceded the bride down the aisle. Scripture was read by Rebecca Buncie Black and Jessica Woodward White Sollohub, friends of the bride. Harper Lewis Bathel, friend of the couple, led the congregati­on in a prayer.

Emily is a graduate of the University of Virginia and holds a Master’s degree in Internatio­nal Education Policy from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. She served in the United States Peace Corps in Cape Verde, West Africa from 2007-2009 as an Education Volunteer. She is the Social Studies Lead Teacher at Hines Middle School in Newport News, Virginia. William is a graduate of Mary Washington College and holds a Master’s degree in Accounting from the Mason School of Business at the College of William and Mary. He holds his CPA license and is a commercial real estate agent with Read Commercial Properties.

The rehearsal dinner was given by the groom’s parents at the Hampton Yacht Club. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception with dinner and dancing at the Virginia Air and Space Museum in downtown Hampton.

Emily and William reside in Hampton, Virginia and intend to honeymoon this summer in the Canadian Maritime Provinces.
