James leaves game after injury to ankle

LeBron James injured his right ankle during the Lakers’ loss to the Hawks on Saturday, leaving the court in visible frustratio­n after attempting to play through the injury.

James left early in the second quarter, and the team later announced he would not return. The Lakers didn’t say whether James will have X-rays or an MRI.

Baseball: Top draft prospect Jack Leiter pitched a nine-inning no-hitter with 16 strikeouts for Vanderbilt on Saturday, retiring his final 27 batters. Leiter, the son of 19-year big league pitcher Al Leiter, walked Braylen Wimmer to open the game but was perfect from there in a 5-0 win over South Carolina. ... A minor leaguer is facing felony drug charges after police in Colorado found 21 pounds of methamphet­amine and 1.2 pounds of oxycodone pills in his Chicago Cubs duffel bag. TJesus Camargo-Corrales, 25, of Tempe, Arizona, appeared in Eagle County Court on Thursday.

NFL: The Giants reached an agreement with former Lions star wide receiver Kenny Golladay, a person with knowledge of the deal told The Associated Press. Golladay played in five games last season because of a hip injury.

Auto racing: Kyle Busch wasn’t about to let two straight NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races slip away. Leading 102 of 130 laps and pulling away in the final stage of Saturday’s Fr8Auction­s 200 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, Busch notched his first victory of the season, his sixth at the 1.54-mile track and the 60th of his career, extending his own series record.

Skiing: Rising to the moment on his 30th birthday, French skier Alexis Pinturault secured his first overall World Cup title. He won a giant slalom, giving him an unbeatable points lead in the season-long standings over breakout Swiss star Marco Odermatt, who placed 11th in Saturday’s race in Lenzerheid­e, Switzerlan­d.
