Throughout her life, Jane enjoyed the surprised reactions when friends learned she was born in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born on January 3, 1943. Her time there was limited, however, since her father had already been reassigned to an Army base in FL. When he was sent overseas to serve as a paratrooper in WW II, Jane and her mother left FL, returning to NJ, the

family’s home state. Such a lot of traveling for a little baby!

Jane’s fondest memories included time spent with her children. She felt fortunate to stay home with them until her younger daughter entered first grade. She then entered and graduated from W&M’s school psychology graduate program. She retired after 30 years as a school psychologist in the Hampton City school system.

Jane loved living in W’burg, her home since 1975 and felt lucky to be in a community bursting with beauty and culture. She was active in her congregation, the WUUs, and enjoyed spending time with her many friends.

Jane’s photograph in St. Joseph’s college yearbook was accompanied by this quotation from Carl Sandburg: “For the laughter of children who tumble barefooted and bareheaded in the summer grass.” Remembering these words continued

to make her smile, even as she was dying.

Jane was predeceased by her parents, Jewell and Donald Reilly, younger brothers, Christopher and Colin Reilly, and husband Richard Wallsom. She leaves to cherish her memory daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Scotty Tardiff, Betsy and Mark Phillips, her wonderful grandchildren, Reilly Tardiff and fiancé Haley Mast, Madeline and Margaret Phillips, and her brother Jay Reilly.
