Ron died suddenly on February 24, 2023. He was born on March 29, 1954 to Harry and Jacqueline Berkheimer in Chester, PA. Ron grew up in Ridley Township (PA) and played lacrosse and football for Ridley High School. He met the love of his life, Mariann Sciarra, and they married in 1975. They attended Delaware County Community College together, and then he joined the United States Air Force. After being assigned to various bases from Texas up to Maryland, along with a year in Turkey, Ron retired as a laboratory technician out of Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, VA with 20 years of service. His second career was at Thomas Nelson Community College, in Hampton, VA as a laboratory supervisor. He retired from there after 20 years. Ron and Mariann made their home in Hampton, VA, raising their two children, Joshua and Christina. Ron was a great father to Joshua and was looking forward to Josh's wedding in August of this year. He was also a great dad to his daughter, Tina, who died in 1984. Ron was a wonderful dog and cat parent, as well. He and Mariann were seen daily, walking their dogs, Addy and Katie. Ron also loved festivals, and Philadelph­ia sports were a major passion, as well (Go Eagles!). Ron was predecease­d by his parents and brothers. He is survived by his wife, Mariann; his son, Joshua of Colorado; and future daughter-in-law, Tara Shields of Ottawa, Canada. He also leaves behind all of his Berkheimer and Sciarra family. Ron was a wonderful brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle. A graveside service will be held in PA where Ron will be buried next to his daughter.
