- By Mike Holtzclaw Staff writer

Guy Fieri’s two new restaurants in Hampton’s Power Plant will open next week, but there are no details yet about whether the celebrity chef will visit.

The restaurants — Guy Fieri’s Pizza Parlor and Guy Fieri’s Dive & Taco Joint — will open at 8 p.m. June 27, a spokeswoman for Fieri said. He opened his first taco bar in Kansas City in February; the pizza parlor in Hampton will be his first.

He already operates Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse in Norfolk’s Waterside District.

Summer treats

The Shoofly Dairy Bar at 7127 Merrimac Trail, Williamsburg, will debut

new signature menu items at its summer kickoff party, which runs from 1:30-10 p.m. Saturday.

Beth Hertzler, who operates Shoofly Dairy Bar with her husband, Dave, said a key to the new menu items will be a signature “Shoofly sauce,” which she describes as a “gooey vanilla with a hint of molasses.” The sauce will be used on sundaes, and on a new Whoopie pie that will feature vanilla cream in between two cakes, topped with the new sauce. Also new: Shoofly milk shake and snochums, which have a consistency similar to that of the DQ Blizzard.

Also at the kickoff party, the Hertzlers will donate more than $2,000 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The money was collected from customers and employees through a donation jar at the counter. For information: 757-707-9505, www.shooflydairy.com.

Summer wines

The SummerWind Vineyard at 71 Eagle Nest Lane, Smithfield, has added Monday hours to its tasting room for spring and summer. Owner Kim Pugh calls them “Meg Mondays” in honor of her daughter, a bartender at Wharf Hill Brewing who hangs out at SummerWind on Mondays and chats with customers.

The new Monday hours are noon to 6 p.m., and the tasting room’s regular hours remain noon to 7 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, and noon to 6 p.m. Sundays. For Meg Mondays, customers who work in the service industry (cooks, servers, bartenders, etc.) get 10% off.

Last weekend, SummerWind began offering Sly Clyde ciders, from the Hampton cidery. The vineyard also recently released a new rosé, made from 2018 grapes.

“It’s made with 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, so it’s very dry,” Pugh said. “We had a sparkling rosé from 2017 that’s also very dry, but we decided to make a still rosé because not everyone wants a sparkling wine. It’s got a bit of a strawberry/raspberry minerally flavor to it.”
