Vote principles
Your vote should be for the candidate whose platform and plans most align with your ideas. However, this year there is a large segment of voters who are voting against President Donald Trump simply because of his personality and their perceived notion of him as a racist and inherently bad person — the Never Trumpers.
Trump’s accomplishments with the economy, trade, immigration, strengthening our military, and bringing the United States closer to energy independence are hard to discredit. Republicans will acknowledge that he doesn’t fit the mold of a traditional president. He is imperfect, egotistical, narcissistic, aggressive and a bully at times. But the bottom line is that he gets results and for the most part has made good on his campaign promises. At heart he is a loyal American patriot and stands for traditional values.
Steve Jobs of Apple and Gen. George S. Patton were famous leaders, aggressive and effective, but often unliked by their constituents. Trump has some of those same qualities. No matter what, he will do whatever is necessary to further his vision of what is right and best for the American people.
So if you value the above accomplishments, vote for Trump. But if your high priorities lie with a greener economy, expanded and better health care, a more conservative approach to the COVID-19 pandemic, looser immigration regulations and more resources to social causes — vote for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.
Have a positive reason to vote for your candidate. To vote against Trump just because you hate him is tragically miscasting your vote.
