Focus, people Lead by example
There are a large multitude of professionals working for President Donald Trump who write briefs, research, appear at court presentations, give press conferences, collect funds through Facebook and work relentlessly because the president is intent on having the election results overturned.
What if Trump and the Republicans put all this effort, coordination and money into overcoming the real American crisis: COVID-19?

Re “Where should evangelicals go in wake of election” (Other Views, Nov. 13): I believe all Christians need to go back to the teachings of Christ. Love one another as he has loved us. Lead by example of our own lives. Do not judge others, be kind, forgiving, compassionate, have empathy and understanding. Know that God’s children come in all colors, shapes and sizes, each with different infirmities and gifts.
I understand the concerns about abortions, but I am not their judge. Stopping medical centers offering safe, clean and trained medical professionals is not the answer. We can help her by giving her options: supplying shelter, health care, education and DNA to obtain the males who are also responsible.
In the end it is her life, her body and her soul, not ours to judge. There is a reason for separation of state and church, for if we follow the laws of all religions, there would be no blood transfusions, no advancements of new health-care treatments, no new medications and no advancements in science.
With God’s help, we can become a stronger, caring and loving community. First think: “What would Jesus do?” Lead by example, and have compassion, empathy and understanding for all of God’s children. “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and my ways are not your ways,” declared the Lord (Isaiah 55.8). Thank you, Dr. Robert Jeffress, for your words resonate in my soul. God bless us all and the United States of America!
