PHILADELPH­IA — Vince Williams Jr. had 17 points to lead five VCU players in double figures as the Rams got past Saint Joseph’s on Wednesday in the first Atlantic 10 Conference game of the season for both teams.

Adrian Baldwin Jr. added 12 points, and Jamir Watkins, KeShawn Curry and Levi Stockard III each had 10 for the Rams (8-2), who forced a season-high 25 turnovers.

Dahmir Bishop scored a career-high 20 points for the Hawks (0-6).

Radford 71, Presbyteri­an 65

CLINTON, S.C. — Quinton Morton-Robertson posted 18 points as Radford (4-5, 3-0 Big South) got past Presbyteri­an (2-3, 0-1).

UNC Asheville 80, Longwood 73

FARMVILLE — Tajion Jones had 23 points as UNC Asheville (4-4, 3-0 Big South) defeated Longwood (1-8, 0-3) .

WACO, Texas — Macio Teague scored 18 points to lead six players scoring in double figures for Baylor, which beat Alcorn State for its second lopsided victory in a 23-hour span.

Jared Butler added 17 points on 6-of-8 shooting and Matthew Mayer had 14 points for the Bears (8-0). Davion Mitchell, Jordan Turner and Zach Loveday each scored 10.

TULSA, Okla. — Brandon Rachal hit two free throws with a tenth of a second remaining and finished with 22 points as Tulsa (5-3, 2-1 American) topped unbeaten Houston.

After Caleb Mills made a 7-foot floater with six seconds left to give Houston its first lead in the final 13 minutes of the game, Rachal took a pass, drove the length of the court and was fouled by center Brison Gresham at the rim a fraction of a second before time expired. Rachal went to the line and calmly made both free throws.

SPOKANE, Wash. — Corey Kispert scored 25 points, Joel Ayayi added 21 points and 11 rebounds and Gonzaga beat shorthande­d Dixie State.

Oumar Ballo added 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting for Gonzaga (9-0), which has won 43 consecutiv­e home games, the longest streak in the nation.

BATON ROUGE, La. — Former Oscar Smith High star Cameron Thomas scored a season-high 32 points as LSU (6-1, 1-0 SEC) topped Texas A&M (5-1, 1-1). Thomas now has five games with at least 20 points this season, the most by a Division I freshman. He entered as the nation’s 10th-leading scorer.
