James W. Conner, Jr.

James "Jimmy" W. Conner Jr, 74, passed away peacefully on Monday January 11, 2021 in Gloucester. He was preceded in death by his parents James W. Sr and Rosalie Conner.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of more than 49 years, Carolyn; daughter Heather Robertson and her husband David; son Forrest Conner and his wife Jessica; Grandchildren Taiya and Jacob Robertson and Brenton and Bayleigh Conner; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Jimmy retired from the Hampton Police Department after 27 years of Service, he was a Master Mason at Botetourt Masonic Lodge #7 AF & AM, an active member of the Middle Peninsula Amateur Radio Club, a Charter Member of the Hampton F.O.P. Lodge # 26. He was born and raised in Hampton, VA, but has been a Gloucester resident for more than 20 years.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at Andrews Funeral Home, 7192 Main Street Gloucester VA and a Graveside Service on Thursday, 11:00 am on January 14, 2021 at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Ave. Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Gloucester Volunteer Fire and Rescue, P.O. Box 1417 Gloucester, VA 23061. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jimmy's long time friends Robert Walker, Richard Barnes, and Leo Flibotte. Due to Covid 19 restrictions mask are required for everyone.
