CHAPEL HILL, N.C. — Elizabeth Kitley had 18 points and 14 rebounds for the Hokies (7-4, 2-4 ACC), who took control in the third quarter and ended their four-game losing streak.
UNC (7-4, 2-4), which got 15 points from Deja Kelly, led 22-15 in the second quarter, but the Tar Heels shot just 27% (17 of 63) from the field.
The Hokies went on an 18-2 run bridging halftime to go ahead 33-24 and never led by fewer than six points again. Aisha Sheppard scored 15 points for Tech.
