If elected, what would be your top priority and how would you get it done?

My highest priority is continuing to help our community recover from the COVID-19 pandemic by: (1) supporting our public schools (increased teacher pay, reduced class size ratios, removal of support staff position cap), (2) helping our area diversify its economy (especially through support of offshore wind development which could bring thousands of jobs to the area), (3) continued support of small businesses (like the highly successful Rebuild Virginia grant program which has pumped $400 million into recovery and the Return to Earn program that funds $1000 hiring bonuses), (4) protecting access to affordable health care (creation of the state marketplace, allowing insurance group formation like realtors, protecting Medicaid expansion); and (5) helping families with programs like the expanded affordable child care vouchers.

If elected, what would be your top priority and how would you get it

done?

My top priority will be to restore balance to Virginia government. The past two years of one-party rule in Richmond has been a disaster. Because Democrats allowed no bipartisanship, extreme legislation was passed that freed convicted child pornographers from prison early (HB5148), allowed sexual assaults in schools to be covered up (HB257) and now telling parents they shouldn’t have any say in their children’s education. Restoring balance means repealing this extremist legislation and getting back to common sense ideas like ending the tax on groceries and lowering energy costs. This also means changing the way campaigns are financed because the millions of out-of-state dollars spent on false TV ads means donors from New York to California control these politicians and I think the people you elect should answer to you.
