Patricia Ann Capone, 86 years old, died peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family on Sunday November 7, 2021.

Born in Georgia on September 14, 1935 to John and Mildred Brannon, Mildred and Patty Ann

moved to Hampton Roads just after the end of WW2 to start a new life in Virginia. In 1947 Mildred married the love of her life, John P. Guydos. In 1953 Patty married Theodore W. Dobbs and blessed him with three children, Vicki, Kim and Don.

Sadly, Ted died in 1959 and Patricia moved her children back Hampton, working as a dental assistant, and with the love and support of Millie and John, raised her young children as a single mom until 1965, when she met and married a young captain named Frank Capone.

In 1967, Frank and Patty announced the birth of

a son, Mike and, along with her three children, spent the next thirty years touring the world. The life of a military spouse is often overlooked or underestimated. The many times Dad was away, Mom had to take care of all aspects of life at home; house, bills, kids, and do this while worrying about Dad. Patricia repeated this superhuman feat every three years. State to state, country to country, she raised her babies until one by one, they left the nest.

Her babies never left her heart and and she loved and supported them, along with their babies and their babies' babies. No one could have asked for a more loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Patty loved her family and it showed.

Patty was preceded in death by her dad John Guydos; her mother Mildred Guydos; her daughters, Vicki Panora and Kim Levi; and most recently, her husband of 56 years, Col. Frank Capone (USAF Ret.).

Left to consider a world without her are her sons, Donald Dobbs (Sheila) and Michael Capone (Sharon). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Erny Moore, Jamin Moore, Stephanie Allen, Magan Galvan and Sean Capone; as well as many great grandchildren, cousins, neighbors and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 PM Thursday, November 11, 2021 at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 3 PM Friday, November 12, 2021 at Peninsula Memorial Park.
