William Edward (ED) West, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 in Williamsbu­rg, Virginia. Ed was born on January 20, 1937 in James City County, Virginia. He was a graduate of Warwick High School. Ed started his employment with the United States Postal Service after graduation in 1956, where he remained until his retirement in 1992. Ed worked at the Fort Eustis Station, Lee Hall Station, Denbigh Station, and at Yorktown, Virginia. His last job was as Post Master at White Marsh, Virginia. Ed was a member of the Army National Guard from 1955 until his honorable discharge in July 1963.

Ed had a passion for playing golf and had two Holes in One. After retiring from the Post Office he went to work at The Kingsmill Golf Resort as a Player Host and Starter. He also worked in their Shoe Room.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Thomas S. and Grace Lindsay West, wife Barbara Vaughan West, and daughter Cathy Garrett.

He is survived by his daughters Susan Powell and her husband Dr. David Powell of Toano, VA, Terri Cline of Newport News, VA, and Cindy Hudgins of Yorktown, VA. He is also survived by grandchild­ren, Jenifer Crespo, Jesica Cline, Jason Cline, Samantha Ellis, Chase Garrett, Brooke Hudgins, Jordan Hudgins, Alex Powell, and Brandon Powell.

He is also survived by great-grandchild­ren Amari and Alexia Parker, Elena and Anya Crespo, Brantley, Maddison, and Easton Ellis, Bobby and Skyler Wilson.

He is also survived by his brothers Thomas S. West Jr. of Florida, and Robert A. West of Gloucester, Virginia.

Visitation will be held at Lebanon Christian Church on Tuesday, November 30, from 10am-11am with

a service to follow at 11am with Pastor Dennis Worsham officiatin­g. The burial service will begin

at 1pm that afternoon at Peninsula Memorial Park. In Lieu of flowers, please make contributi­ons to the Lebanon Christian Church Building Fund.
