Cindy Lester Elliott was born August 19, 1957 to John and Ruth Lester in Niagara Falls, New York and moved to Hampton, Virginia in 1967. Cindy passed away on June 8, 2022 after a very courageous battle with cancer. She married her husband, Joe, on August 6, 1983. When they first met, they danced all night and fell in love immediatel­y. Two years ago, his passing broke her heart. They have three beautiful children, whom they loved very much. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmothe­r, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Cindy was always there whenever you needed her. Her children, grandchild­ren, siblings, nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart. She loved growing plants and grew beautiful flowers in her yard. She was a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan and the family believes that she

will be instrument­al in making sure they win the Super Bowl this year. GO BILLS!

Cindy loved being a teacher. She was an awardwinni­ng, special education teacher Her students meant the world to her. They, in turn, loved her so much. She started her career at PACES, later moved to Bethel High School and finished her career at Poquoson High School. While at Poquoson High School, she received the Bull Pen Award for excellence in the field of education. She loved spending time with her students and treated them as her own.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, John and Ruth Lester; her brother, Ronnie Lester; her sister, Ginger Fabry, and her son-in-law, Dustin Hudgins.

Cindy is survived by her children Jessie White (Casey), Austin Elliott (Christina) and Meagan Elliott; her stepchildr­en Jamie Hensley and David Elliott; her sister, Kathy M. Lester, her brother Mike Lester (Sheree) and Faith Lester Perkins. Her grandchild­ren include Kira, Kaden, Colton, Sophia, Dustin, Cain, Everleigh, Maddie, and Ellie, and her great grandson Brantley. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and long-time friends, Liz and Conrad Buehler.
