Jackson-Davis eclipses 2,000 career points in Indiana’s win

Trayce Jackson-Davis scored 20 points and had 18 rebounds while reaching yet another major milestone in leading No. 18 Indiana past No. 24 Rutgers 66-60 on Tuesday night in Bloomingto­n.

The fourth-year forward became the sixth player in school history with 2,000 career points and the first among them who also had 1,000 rebounds.

The Hoosiers (17-7, 8-5 Big Ten) have moved into a tie for second place in the conference.

Clifford Omoruyi had 15 points for the Scarlet Knights (16-8, 8-5).

Jordan Hawkins scored 20 points and Tristen Newton recorded his second triple-double of the season as Connecticu­t (19-6, 8-6 Big East) ran away from Marquette (19-6, 11-3) in Hartford.

Newton had 12 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds for the Huskies, who won their third straight game after losing six of eight.

Tyler Kolek had 17 points to lead Marquette.

No. 12 Kansas State 82, No. 17 TCU 61:

Markquis Nowell scored 18 points and Kansas State (19-5, 7-4 Big 12) finished strong, snapping a two-game skid by beating TCU (17-7, 6-5) at home.

Former Norview High star Keyontae Johnson and Desi Sills each had 14 points for the Wildcats.

ACC Pittsburgh 91, Louisville 57:

Nike Sibande scored 15 points off the bench, nine Pittsburgh players entered the scoring column and the Panthers (17-7, 10-3) demolished Louisville (3-21, 1-12) at home and moved into a first-place tie with Clemson in the ACC.

Entering play Tuesday, the top five teams in the ACC were separated by just a game.

Wake Forest 92, North Carolina 85:

Tyree Appleby scored a season-high 35 points, 23 coming at the free-throw line, and Wake Forest (16-9, 8-6) built a big lead early, then held on for a victory over North Carolina (15-9, 7-6) in Winston-Salem.

Caleb Love finished with 24 points for the Tar Heels.

STATE Dayton 62, VCU 58:

Toumani Camara had 26 points and 15 rebounds as Dayton (16-9, 8-4 Atlantic 10) defeated VCU (18-7, 9-3) in Richmond.

Adrian Baldwin Jr. led the Rams with 14 points.

SERVICE ACADEMY Colorado State 69, Air Force 53:

John Tonje had 21 points as Colorado State (11-14, 3-9 Mountain West) defeated Air Force (12-13, 3-9) at home. Beau Becker and Jake Heidbreder finished with 13 points apiece for the Falcons.
