Giannis undergoes more tests on wrist

Bucks star Giannis Antetokoun­mpo was scheduled to be in New York on Monday to undergo testing and get further evaluation on his injured right wrist, according to reports Monday.

Antetokoun­mpo injured his wrist Thursday night against the Bulls after attempting to block a shot. He exited after only nine minutes and didn’t return. Antetokoun­mpo had X-rays and they came back clean.

But there evidently hasn’t been much improvemen­t in the wrist since. Antetokoun­mpo didn’t join his brothers as planned for the All-Star Skills Challenge on Saturday night in Salt Lake City. And he played only 20 seconds in his team’s 184-175 victory over Team LeBron in the All-Star Game on Sunday night.

■ Nine-time All-Star G Russell Westbrook plans to sign with the Clippers, his agent told ESPN on Monday. The Jazz and Westbrook, 34, finalized the buyout on the remaining $47 million owed on his expiring deal and he was waived by the team. Westbrook averaged 17.4 points, 6.9 assists and 7.2 assists over 130 games with the Lakers in the last two seasons . ... ESPN reported that 7-footer Meyers Leonard, who’s been out of the league since March 2021 after uttering an antisemiti­c slur on a video game livestream before rehabilita­ting post-surgical nerve damage on his right leg, will sign a 10-day contract with the Bucks. Leonard, 30, last played an NBA game in January 2021 with the Heat . ... G Patrick Beverley was planning to sign with the Bulls, his agent told ESPN. Beverley, 34, a Chicago native, was waived by the Magic on Feb. 12 after reaching an agreement on a buyout.

NHL: New York Islanders center Mathew Barzal is out indefinite­ly with a lower-body injury. Barzal, 25, is second on the team with 51 points (14 goals, 37 assists) . ... Center Travis Konecny left the Flyers’ 4-3 victory over the host Flames with an upperbody injury. Konecny, 25, has 26 goals and 26 assists.
