Boys Class 5 Region A Tournament Green Run 58, Tallwood 49 (OT):

Eizayah Chisholm’s basket at the buzzer sent the game into overtime, and the sixth-seeded Stallions made 8 of 11 free throws in overtime to knock off third-seeded Tallwood in a quarterfin­al Tuesday night.

Green Run led 30-21 with 4 minutes, 14 seconds left in the third quarter before the Lions clawed back. Tallwood led 43-41 with 4.9 seconds left, and after two timeouts the Stallions went the length of the court for Chisholm’s tying shot off the backboard.

Chisholm finished with a game-high 16 points and teammate Kass Jackson finished with 15 and made 4 of 6 free throws in OT.

Green Run will play Salem in a semifinal at 8 tonight at Scope in Norfolk.

Salem 46, Cox 44: Timothy James Jr. hit three consecutiv­e free throws with 1.3 seconds left as the seventh-seeded SunDevils rallied from a 13-point deficit in the fourth quarter to knock off the No. 2 seed Falcons.

James was fouled on a 3-point attempt, leading to his game-winning foul shots. He finished with a team-high 13 points, while Rekcoe Elliott added 10.

Ben Nacey (16 points) and Ray Jackson (13) led Cox.

Princess Anne 73, First Colonial 45:

Styles Clemmons had a game-high 38 points and grabbed six rebounds as the top-seeded Cavaliers (18-5) rolled at home. Will Bland finished with 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists.

Romeo Steverson (15) and John Lane (13) scored in double figures for the Patriots (7-16).

Kempsville 67, Indian River 59: Emmanuel Angila (20 points), Landon Fore (16) and Jayon Griffin (10) scored helped the Chiefs (12-11) advance to a 6 p.m. semifinal today at Scope.

Davion Riddick led the Braves (8-13) with 22 points, and Davion Turns and Cameron McLean each scored 12.

Class 5 Region B Tournament

Woodside 67, Norview 44: The

Wolverines finished with eight 3-pointers and Trevor Smith and Say’Quon Welsh had 14 points each in a quarterfin­al win.

Woodside will face unbeaten and top seed Menchville in a 6 p.m. semifinal Friday at Scope.

The host Pilots’ Jalen Milt led all scorers with 27 points.

Maury 57, Nansemond River 41: The Commodores pulled away from a one-point halftime lead to secure a spot in the semifinals at Scope against No. 2 seed Kecoughtan at 8 p.m. on Friday.

TCIS Tournament Catholic 63, Nansemond-Suffolk 36:

Brayden Thorne paced the top-seeded Crusaders to a quarterfin­al victory with 22 points. Kosi Mgbejiofor finished with 17 points and eight rebounds, and Josiah Rickards had eight points and eight boards.

Norfolk Collegiate 53, Cape Henry Collegiate 36:

Brennan Chatman scored 16 points and Justin Burrough added 10 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks for the fourth-seeded Oaks.

Peninsula Catholic 52, Walsingham Academy 46:

Kamari Vinson scored 14 points and Malcolm Velmar added 13 for the Knights (26-6).

Steward 55, Norfolk Academy 38: Led by Liberty recruit Curtis Blair Jr.’s 33 points, the Spartans (19-6) ousted the Bulldogs in Richmond.

Girls

Class 4 Region A Tournament

Deep Creek 60, Grafton 33:

The sixth-seeded Hornets turned up the pressure and raced to a 21-4 lead early in the second quarter on their way to beating No. 3 seed Grafton.

Deep Creek had four players in double figures: Chloe Beddingfie­ld (14 points), Nalani Simmons (11), Asia Keels (10) and Luann Kemeni (10).

Manor 73, Warhill 27: Jadah White led four double-figure scorers with 22 points as the Mustangs dominated in a quarterfin­al win at home.

Manor’s Jada Clark and Zaniya Williams finished with 15 points each and AJ Richardson had 12.

King’s Fork 59, Jamestown 53:

Cyriah Griffin and Niyah Gaston scored 19 points each for the Bulldogs, who overcame a 26-point performanc­e from Jamestown’s Maddie Leach.

Class 2 Region A Tournament Poquoson 51, Greensvill­e County 39:

Sela Pickford scored 18 points and made four 3-pointers, and Annabelle Simmons (13) and Hayden Dunlap (12) also scored in double figures for the Islanders.

TCIS Tournament Norfolk Christian 65, Cape Henry 21:

Abuna Ruop scored 15 points and had 15 rebounds, and Justice Brown-Jones (13 points, six steals) and Michelle Luhunga (13 points) also contribute­d for the No. 2 seed Ambassador­s in a quarterfin­al.

Steward 64, Norfolk Academy 30:

Sanai Green had 20 points and six rebounds, Tori West had 20 points and Lilly Thoman had 10 points and six assists for the Spartans (21-8) as they won in Richmond. Lizzie Adams led Norfolk Academy with nine points.

Catholic 88, Norfolk Collegiate 28:

Taylor Ethridge finished with 19 points and five rebounds, while Kylah Moore and Jamesa Parker each contribute­d 12 points for the Crusaders.

Hampton Roads Academy 53, Walsingham Academy 20: The Navigators’ defense shut down the Trojans in Newport News.
