Duck and cover
President Joe Biden’s visit to Ukraine highlighted our commitment of aid to that country’s defense against Russian aggression. His visit to Poland confirmed our support to NATO should Russian President Vladimir Putin expand his territorial ambitions. Although Russian hegemony deserves attention, of equal importance is action to thwart China’s communist-led regime from achieving its dual objectives of military superiority and economic dominance over the United States.
Unfortunately, Biden’s response is a weak and frail “duck and cover” ploy. The regime knows time is on its side, evidenced by their insulting replies to Biden’s erratic criticism of their nefarious activities. As long as Biden remains president, China will threaten Taiwan, purchase land in the U.S. near military installations and expand its spying capabilities.
It will continue trafficking fentanyl-related substances into the U.S. The mother of two fentanyl victims recently expressed frustration about the federal response to smuggling of that drug that is killing our country’s youth, according to the New York Post. Biden’s response was mirth and a disgraceful display of Marxist-like frigidity seemingly aimed to protect China by blaming the previous administration. His “duck and cover” meandering emboldens China to stay the course. Should Biden run again, he deserves a defeat by a landslide. Our country needs a president with the courage and skill to implement Ronald Reagan’s Cold War strategy of “peace through strength.” That strategy dynamically caused the
Soviet Union’s collapse and will, most likely, convince China’s communist regime to abandon its anti-U.S. objectives.
