Hampton University athletic director Anthony Henderson announced Wednesday the launching of a new NIL platform for Pirates athletes.

HU says the “Hampton Pirates Exchange” is a platform that makes it easier for local, regional and national businesses to connect with Hampton athletes for name, image and likeness opportunities.

Hampton Athletics has a previously established relationship with INFLCR, according to Henderson’s first 100 days letter. The platform is being powered by INFLCR and Teamworks and will allow Hampton to “educate and track” NIL activities.

“This is an exciting opportunity and a valuable resource for our student-athletes to take advantage of NIL opportunities,” Henderson said in a release. “Our relationship with INFLCR will help connect our student-athletes with prospective companies to explore potential avenues to promote their personal brands.”

Using Hampton Pirates Exchange, businesses will be allowed to partner directly with athletes on brand-focused activities as long as they are allowed under Virginia law and follow the HU NIL institutional policy, the release said.

“The Hampton Pirates Exchange will provide another opportunity for the many Hampton alums who lead or own businesses to be engaged with our athletics department and support our student-athletes,” Hampton Deputy Director of Athletics for External Affairs/Chief Revenue Officer Vaughan Moss said in a release.

According to the INFCLR website, more than 3,500 teams are partnered with the company and more than 70,000 athletes are on the app.

Hampton joins fellow CAA school William & Mary as the only schools in the region with an INFCLR Exchange platform.
