BEST BET: RACE 7, WRITE IN CANDIDATE

FIRST RACE

LOOKIN FOR MONEY Comes off a much improved effort under similar conditions on 1/26 despite racing a bit rank during the early going, ultimately missing a neck to Yes Mongolia who returned to finish third against open $16K company in her next start. Need only repeat the effort to get back on winnng track for barn having a good meet. CHANNEL SURFING No match for preferred choice in their previous encounter but looks like speed of speed in here, one to catch again with Paco taking the call. FOREVER FOR ALWAYS was hung three wide throughout while finishing behind top pair in trio’s previous encounter, appears to be tailing off just a tad at this time.

SECOND RACE

LAND HO Held own beating more than half his field for higher tag in key race on 1/25 which produced pair of next out winners including 4th finisher Colormepompom, who came back to beat same kind at next asking. Gets some class relief, deserves top billing in this spot. STILBURNIN back to the main off a couple of turf sprints, figures forwardly placed throughout on stretch to seven-eighths. LEONIDES DA ROMA dueled Eklipsado, pulled clear, faded late returning from extended vacation first out for this barn, the latter flattering effort coming back to win right back. Can hang on for a piece with a race under his belt.

THIRD RACE

COLORINCOLONEL is 0 for 15 lifetime but has yet to run against bottom level maidens, showed enough two back against boys to merit shaky nod on the class drop against this very weak group. MISS MASERATI dueled from the rail, succumbed grudigngly showinig improvement on stretch to a mile and with addition of Lasix, logical off that effort but may not see the front end breaking from the outside today. CINDY’S CANDY was hung wide throughout for her outside post last time following unlucky start, tossing that outing and giving a second chance if able to come away cleanly from the rail. ,

FOURTH RACE

CHIA GHOST benefited from rapid pace to earn career brest Beyer despite fanning considerably wide with his bid to defeat open $16K co. last time, may get similar set up, can be along again if not regressing return on short rest. Did put two good ones back to back on just 8 days rest here late last summer. SWAGGER showed improved speed with addition of blinkers setting torrid fractions before succumbing at the end, looks like one to catch again if away cleanly from inside post. BANZAI CHARGE broke poorly losing best chance in last. Another late running sort who should benefit from expected pace scenario.

FIFTH RACE

I. C. LIGHTNING was hung 3 wide on first turn, four wide making a run at leaders around second, flattened out late dropping into this category for the first time now draws the rail and lures hot rider to boot. Expecting big improvement today. DYNAMIC DECISION Did not have the cleanest of trips when beaten 2 1/2 length under siilar conditions last time, got caught in some traffic racing between horses from the second flight, had to wait briefly for clearance at quarte rpole before rallying mildly. Continues to hold form well at this time. GRACIOUS PLENTY stays put off the claim, regressed last time after beating up on same kind two back with Pletcher barn. Turn back to this distance may help the cause.

SIXTH RACE

TWO STEP FLOR Hard pressed contesting ultimately winner, faded late in most recent try but looks loose on the lead returning vs. same kind.

May not look back this time. LOVE FLUTE should benefit from recdnt two turn outing, come running best of all at the end. Beat this same kind with big late rush on 12/18. KEEKER a seven time winner who returned to the turn to finish fourth with same bunch on 2/2 despite some trouble. Switches pilots, looks like a good fit with clean sailing today.

SEVENTH RACE

WRITE IN CANDIDATE, the day’s best, chased wire to wire winner making local bow in well graded MSW event, plummets into selling ranks for first time, well drawn inside. Lots to like for hot J/T combo. HAT IN THE RING in new hands off the claim, returns to turf, must respect for this barn. PAPA PABLO a beaten favorite in each of his last three starts, did earn czreer best number but had lilttle excuse last out at Tampa albeit against a pay who Beyered 65 and 64 in the process. Picks up top jock for return to local sod.

EIGHTH RACE

BISTRO MONCUR endured a very eventful trip, came running late once clear in promising try vs. this same kind six weeks earlier. Has since returned with another big turf drill at PM, need only break and get some early position to get back on winning track. MAKE BIG MONEY wanted no part of wet track last time, held own against better than these two back. Non-winning sort but can be along for a share. RUN TO GLORY an easy maiden winner over a wet track but has shown some promise in the past on grass, may prove one to catch being well spotted for initial venture into winner’s ranks.

NINTH RACE

Lots of contenders in the main event. YOUR DREAMS OR MINE back to level at which he posted popular tally on 12/4 going six furlongs and perhaps even more effective at this distance. Should trip out well just behind the speed of BLUEGRASS SINGER and Scarly Charly, the latter likely a lot fitter now than when fading late vs. same bunch on 1/7. Might surprise at a price if able to set up shop on the front end. SOMETHING AWESOME exits career best effort from a figure stand point rallying off fast pace on 1/7, big factor if able to repeat that try here.

TENTH RACE

A number of contenders to sort out, as usual, in turf nightcap with FIRST GIRL getting the nod after game effort vs. better on 1/15, finishing behind Chad Brown well backed(9-5) Euro import Vaunting and Moon Over Paris, the winner getting an 83 Beyer which is higher than any of these seem capable of at their best. Looks like ultimately the one to catch. STORMIN CHARLOTTE made two moves to finish third under similar conditions last time and like preferred choice with four victories already on her resume’. May offer a bit of value in this spot. MY GOOD VENEZUELA logical in her present form and much improved, it seems, since the addition of blinkners. Likely to be a bit over-bet with Castellano signing on today.
