BEST BET: RACE 2, TICABOO

FIRST RACE

Quarter horses.

SECOND RACE

There is no getting around TICABOO who won for fun when first on this sod. She got an early breather that day and that looks likely once again. Sure, she could bounce second off the long layoff but do you really think that winning effort was that taxing? She has three sharp works since. A decent shot to actually improve. MAJOR THREAT did break her maiden on this sod and has solid turf breeding. Works are well spaced and we know that she can fire fresh. MINT JULEP TAFFY found stakes foes a bit much last out when sent out at 35-1. Stevens returns for this and he rode this filly to the win only two back. This gal might get first run on the speed or a second Lone F trip in front of everyone else. BULLICIOUS is by a 8% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green and this is her first grass foal.

THIRD RACE

CAL MCLISH gets a nice set up as the 3 and 4 figure to duel early on. This gelding just ran a Beyer top when first on this dirt and could improve second off the layoff and second on this dirt. He is a stakes winner in Canada and goes for a barn that is 22% with repeating winners. POLITICAL DEBATE is feeling good and should trip out well chasing a hot pace. Nothing wrong with most recent and we actually like today’s rail draw. EDDIE’S FIRST just won for fun at Santa Anita and goes for top barn. This gelding has some speed so working out a good trip could be a bit tricky. Lone local try wasn’t the best but it came versus stakes foes four back. J P ROCKER and MYSTERIOUS STORM are the speeds. If one were to declare out .....

FOURTH RACE

Nothing wrong with most recent for TOWPATH. He could get an even better trip today if the 1, 3, and 5 hook up early. Second time this sod is a plus. A good post to save a little ground yet give jockey some late options. DYNAMIC SCORING is a closer that gets good race flow. Fresh face has some solid turf figs of late but are you sure he will like this sod? He escapes stakes foes and figures the chalk today. DREAMCATCHER has speed but has passed runners before just look at most recent. Class jump today for barn that is 28% with repeating winners.

FIFTH RACE

SEEKING THE LIGHT has speed, an inside post, loves this dirt, and can get another early breather. Hello favorite. CEE’S JOY does like this distance at 13-5-2-1. Her last two starts at this distance with Stevens up were both good tries (1st and 3rd). She might need some pace help to find winner’s circle but A game might do it also. I B SEXIE SADIE gets away from open foes for today’s restricted ones. A good post to chase the speed. This mare ran well for Ms. Beauregard only three back.

SIXTH RACE

BIG BOY’S BARGAIN is the fresh face from NoCal.. We like how this gelding tried two turns in only his second start and ran better. Local works...check. Cut back in distance...check. A decent price...not so fast. NEFARIOUS WAYS is a little better of late while most recent a Beyer top. Second time this distance can only help. Grinding style might work well against this group. RACING RAY is the best of the rest. DANZIGS DEVIL is by a 11% debut sire. Her dam went 43-6-5-5 for 73K. Lone sib is 8-0-0-3 for 5K.

SEVENTH RACE

AFLEET ALICE might be coming around as recent couple were better including a grass start. This filly does have some tactical speed and draws the rail so we wouldn’t be shocked if connections put her in the race early from this rail draw. She isn’t going to clear off but then again she might not be too far off the early pace. Even better if the 2 and 4 hook up again. ENTITLED STAR got a nice confidence boost last out. This barn is still 4% on the grass. Maybe the return of Lasix was key? Or was it the leading rider in Ramgeet? METMEYER draws inside and has speed. She never got a breather last out and that could change today? The key is WILD

DERBY DAZE and whether that one wants to mix it up early again. She draws inside main pace foe today. SIDURI is by a 10% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. Lone sib never tried the green.

EIGHTH RACE

DIABLO’S ANGEL is the fresh face and comes in off a layoff. Fresh speed is often the best speed. That March 4th work was 3rd best of 41. This mare tries a real dirt surface for the first time today. Go to rider gets a leg up in Lopez (28% J/T). AIKMAN’S GAL gets an extra half furlong to work with today and goes third off the layoff. We think today’s pace is better for her off the pace trip. MISSMOLLY draws outside main pace foes. Added half furlong might help theft chances. A new jock is noted.
