BEST BET: RACE 3, OVERDRIVEN CAT

FIRST RACE

MR. MAGIC in top form at the present time, might handle hike to open company in present form. BARREL OF LOVE comes off best in a while but remains winless since May of 2015. Old pro could break that 18 racelosing streak in this spot. SINATRA adds blinkers coming off wide trip vs. similar. Consistent sort still looking for first win at this level.

SECOND RACE

QUENANE back in 6 days but coming off far and away his best yet when facing better than this bunch in second try at a mile. Lightly raced colt could finally be ready to earn diploma if able to repeat effort on short rest. FEEL PROUD another with only four starts under his belt, switches to the main for only the second time while adding blinkers for occasions. Has worked well enough on dirt to merit respect here. TRAFFIC EXPRESS has hit the trifecta in all three recent starts with this kind. Tossing in for bottom part of gimmicks.

THIRD RACE

OVERDRIVEN CAT, the day’s best, scratched vs. similar going 5 1/2 furs. on Thursday. Has shown enough in the morning here and back in Chicago(bullet on 11/7 at Hawthorne) to merit top billing with this slow group. RACHELGOTSTEPHEN another new face to weak category. Figure one of the two newbies will take down the top prize. SMART JERSEY adds blinkers coming off best yet when dropped to this level for the first time on 3/5.

FOURTH RACE

AMERICAN COWGIRL continues to iknock on the door with N1X company, may just catch enough pace to be along in time. MY GIRL COREY has continued to move forward with every starts but facing far and away her stiffest test today. Strictly one to fear at a short price. FLATTERMEFABULOUS no match for runaway winner but finished just behind Summersault who has returned with a pair of wins while posting Beyers of 81 and 91 in process. Working steadily off the bench, Must avoid early conflict with Sunday Sonnet.

FIFTH RACE

HY DANDY has had a lot of tries with only a single victory to show for it on resume’ but moved closer to elusive 2nd win last out at this same level when

unable to close late off slow pace. Best would be good enough in this weak field. NACHO GIANT should prove controling speed if hustled along early from the inside. Might get brave at a price.

BAY POINT COUNT a consistent sort of late but like preferred choice a non-winning sort to this point in career. DELIGHTFUL LANA ran well vs. this same kind, succumbing late at a mile now turns back a sixteenth, gets tepid nod if tripping out as expected from inside post. O. K. KAY ran well enough in debut to merit respect with a race uner his belt. Must overcome tough post. MY LIFE was off slow, hung wide under relatively inexperienced rider facing tougher MSW foes earlier in the winter now lures Saez and likely to be overbret as a result of the rider change. Still looks like a player making third start of her form cycle.

SEVENTH RACE

JACK OF DIAMONDS one of several interesting looking new faces in this lineup and one of two trained by Kathleen O’Connell, who has had good success off the bench at the mid-claiming leve over the years. Should be precocious being by Wildcat Heir and with a couople of decent looking five furlong works on resume’ since being prepped on the farm. Would tab board for clues. LEGACY AZTECA ran into a monster in Nick the Cardshark when failing at 4-5 behind runaway firster. May not beat facing any such obstacle today. Deserves a mulligan at another short price wheeling back with similar. ILLMATIC drops off decent showing, blinks on, two months earlier. Logical for this tag.

EIGHTH RACE

FLOWMOTION checked to last at the break, got hung 6 wide turning for home, lugged in some down the lane while not badly beaten by loose on lead winner in S Fla. bow now getting ample class relief to warrant much attention with a race over the course. CONQUEST BANDIT in dangerous hands off the claim and a confidence boosting maiden win when setting lively pace, hanging on for well graded score. Looks like one to catch again. PASSPORT TO CHAOS comes off another improved showing, finishing ahead of preferred choice albeit with a much cleaner trip. Must respect in rematch with his Beyers continuing to climb in right directions at this time.

NINTH RACE

Such a wide open spot why not look for some value, taking a shot with DOMENIC on the stretch after a brutal trip two back around two turns. Looks loose on the lead if ridden along from the outset. Might get brave at big balloons. KITTEN FOR GRANNY the logical choice off last when overcoming slow start to finish with good energy in 4yo bow. RORY outfinished KFG in previous meeting but saddled with a tougher post today.

TENTH RACE

Lots of interesting lookin new faces to sort out beginning with Pletcher’s TOLSTOY, a $525K 2yo purchase by Uncle Mo out of a SW mare and kin to multiple SW Keystoneforvictory. Looks well prepared as are all firsters from this barn. BURGAMEISTER apparantly has a lot of talent from PM work reports and is kin to SW Southern Freedom. Main caveat the inside draw which can be tough for beginners. SOUPER WISH by Speightstown out of a SW mare, held own ndin the a.m. with turf debut winner Inheritthewind. King Power also merits respect being a half to Anchor Down.

ELEVENTH RACE

CURLIN’S APPROVAL hard to ignore in current form, should be able to trip out nicely stalking all the inside speed including chief foe DEAREST. The latter as quick as they come and yet to run a poor one. Perfect at distance. Looks like one to fear. DISTINTA in good form and looks like the best late threat in a field full of speed.

TWELFTH RACE

CHIVALROUS in from Fair Grounds when second best in key race(3 next out winners) despite lagging early off slow pace. May offer a little more value than logical threats FRIED BALONEY and CAVITY both of whom finished behind recent N3L winner(with 77 Beyer) Regal Kitten. Trip will be everything here.

THIRTEENTH RACE

Can toss a blanket over this field in finale. HAMPSTEAD HEATH in new hands off the claim but training well on the main track looking to rebound from tough trip when a beaten favorite at same level last month. Should offer a bit more value this time around. HIDDEN VOW logical off a win and second vs. this same kind at this meet although a non-winning sort with only 4 wins in 47 previous starts. STARSHIP ZORRO another who fits here at his best, should offer some value again today.
