a troubled third going long in her first run. She could make some noise at a square price. A J’S

AMEX has regressed since her encouraging debut, but will likely be a speed threat on the stretch-out. She’s bred to run on, and leading rider Saez takes over. SANTINI closed from mid-pack to prevail in his five-furlong debut, from which the third-place finisher exited to finish a lapped-on second in another maiden special. His trainer is 2 for 5 with last-out maiden winners making their second start during the past five years (2.92 ROI). APACHE BRAVE was a prominent third in a recent stakes, which came on the heels of a narrow loss at this level. MONGO NATION woke up at 13-1 a month ago, when he broke his maiden in his first try under leading rider Saez, who retains the mount.

NINTH RACE

MEADOW ROSE regressed off her narrow comeback loss most recently, but the daughter of Ghostzapper figures to rebound in her third dirt start here with Saez taking over. Trainer Nick Gonzalez has won at a 20% clip third-time off a layoff over the past five years ($1.80 ROI). LINDA MIMI exits an improved second at this level under Ortiz, and appears to be headed in the right direction. She could link upon the lead with APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED, who crushed first-level allowance types in a recent optional claimer.

TENTH RACE

QUEBEC prevailed in a front-end battle before giving way to a deep closer when she tried the turf for the first time in her first two-turn attempt Feb. 25. The daughter of Into Mischief has found her calling going long on the lawn, and shouldn’t be held off much longer. PEBBLE ROAD was edged out of second by QUEBEC after an ideal stalking trip in the aforementioned event. His new rider, Leparoux, is 2 for 7 at the meet for this barn. ANTHONY LASS placed in three of her seven grass excursions. Use her on the bottom of intra-race bets, along with MS ELEGANCE and ROYAL CHAPEAU.
