Laughing saints song could see his stock rise before Saturday night’s $50,000 Ragin Cajun at Evangeline Downs in Opelousas, La. He ran second to Rockshaw in a stakes last month at Oaklawn, and that winner was to run back Thursday in that track’s $150,000 Bachelor.

Laughing saints song, meanwhile, has a waited the Ragin Cajun, for 3-year-olds at seven furlongs. The race drew a field of seven, including Reckling, who was cross-entered in a race at Oak lawn, and US Officer, who is cutting back in distance off a start in the Risen Star at Fair Grounds.

◗ He ventured to Oaklawn for the $125,000 Gazebo last month and ran a strong race, setting the pace before being overtaken by Rockshaw in the six-furlong stakes that went in a quick 1:09.20. Laughing saints song has since returned to his native Louisiana and has been working at Evangeline Downs.

◗Laughing saints song has never been worse than second in six career starts, winning three of those races. His victories include the $50,000 Space City at Sam Houston and the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Juvenile at Fair Grounds.
