BEST BET: RACE 6, SHEZ A TEN I KNOW

FIRST RACE

FORESTELLA was a beaten favorite while hitting the board in all three of her starts in the fall, but she appears to have found a field that she can handle here. Expect her to make all the running under Da Silva. ROXY RED finished a close third behind the top choice Nov. 6, but wasn’t as sharp in two subsequent outings. She worked a decent five-eighths last Sunday. MOLINARO DEPUTY, who finished on the edges in her last few, looks next best.

SECOND RACE

EMINENT FORCE had a productive winter campaign on the turf at Gulfstream, and should have a decided fitness edge on his opposition in this $20K starter. His synthetic track form included a victory against $25K opposition last fall, and note that Campbell was aboard for a subsequent score. CLEARER VIEW prefers grass over the Tapeta, on which he’s been working fast. He’s the class of the field, but seven-eighths is shorter than his preferred trip. TOO MANY EGBERT’S dropped a nose decision in a Jan. 14 optional claimer on the Polytrack at Turfway, from which the third horse exited to win three straight $5K starters there.

THIRD RACE

KAYEZ came from seventh to end up second in his five-furlong opener last April, but then didn’t show much the rest of the year. He’s adding blinkers for his return to action, and is capable of mowing down the speed. After wintering in Ocala, CORKY’S THE NAME figures to be a short price on the big drop, in his first appearance since July 29. He should prove tough to catch if he outruns A BIT OF WHO DO for the lead. BLUTARSKY broke his maiden going short in the fall, before running cold and hot at this level.

FOURTH RACE

RUNAWAY PEPPER hasn’t shown much since scoring here under Hernandez in September, but the 11-time winner possesses a fitness edge on most of these after a winter campaign at Gulfstream, and could get back on track. HEY BEAR also struggled on the dirt at Gulfstream over the winter. Note that he found the mark twice on the Tapeta last year. COSMIC CHARLIE is shortening up off a fading fifth going long at Penn National, and could be the sleeper.

FIFTH RACE

CONCORSO was competitive on occasion last year in SoCal, the highlight of which was a frontrunning romp vs. $20K maidens (76 Beyer). He’s worked quickly on the Tapeta for a little-known trainer, and doesn’t have much to beat in this $10K conditioned claimer. KINKORA HEAT hasn’t seen action since May 22, but can fire while fresh as evidenced by his dominant debut score a year ago. KAT’S GOOD SCOUT figures to pick up some of the pieces with Campbell replacing the retired Olguin.

SIXTH RACE

SHEZ A TEN I KNOW displayed an efficient smooth stride when she won at first asking after pressing the pace on the outside in her lone juvenile excursion. The half-sister to stakes winner Delaforce drew ideally outside the other speed in this allowance, and should be ready to roll after working in Ocala. SILVER PRINCESS worked bullets at Payson Park before her recent half-mile drill at Keeneland. After breaking from the rail, she could take some catching in her first start with Lasix. SOMEWHERE OUTTHERE wired OS maiden special rivals in her only race at 2, and should be prominent from the outset.

SEVENTH RACE

PENNY STAMP blew the break when she came off the bench in recent $12.5K dirt tilt, from which
