ESPN fires about 100 staffers

Trent Dilfer, Ed Werder, Jayson Stark, and Danny Kanell were among the roughly 100 staffers, including several prominent television personalities, fired by ESPN on Tuesday. Disney’s cable networks division had an 11 percent drop in operating income in its most recent quarterly report, a decline driven largely by decreases in advertising and subscriber revenue at ESPN.
