SIXTH RACE

-

Taking a price shot with 6-1 outsider CONQUEST HIOSILVER, who was outrun last out at Oaklawn when seventh after having some early troubles. Toss that race out and his preceding race against classier in a route was much nicer - he pressed the pace and held on for sixth; blinkers on. MIDNIGHT’S FANTASY, another 6-1 shot on the morning line, failed to make an impact in his first start against winners but had previously won a maiden claimer at Oaklawn; 27% trainer/jockey combo team up with this late runner. HELLOFAGUY adds blinkers, like the top choice, and gets in with cheaper $16,000 claiming opposition after getting outrun vs. much classier at Oaklawn.

SEVENTH RACE

8-1 LOU did his best work on grass earlier in his career, and surprisingly ran third a couple times in races on dirt this winter at Oaklawn, which doesn’t have a turf course; now back to the lawn and poised for a good trip with a stalking style and inside draw. SHIFTY KITTEN commands respect with Leparoux reunited aboard him in this turf claimer. He has already won twice on this horse and is hitting at a 26% clip when riding for Maker at Churchill in 2016-2017. GALILEA couldn’t keep up with allowance and stakes horse, but won a $40,000 claimer and a starter at Churchill a year ago; back among friends with the allowance to-$30,000 drop.

EIGHTH RACE

5-1 ROSIE MY ROSIE is stepped up off the claim after two consecutive wins in $40,000/N2X allowance company at Fair Grounds; 9 for 20 when racing on dirt and loves going two turns. The speedy APOLOGY NOT ACCEPTED is another coming off to in a row, though she figures to take more mutual action than the top value-based pick; certainly looks like a force but accustomed to racing a mile or less and is untested at 1 1/16 miles. SHE MABEE WILD banked over $165,000 last year, though a good chunk of that was from racing in Indiana-bred company; ran well to win her only allowance start at Oaklawn over the winter and couldn’t keep up with stakes horses on two other occasions.

NINTH RACE

Longtime turf horse MIZZING FRAZIER moved to the dirt for her latest and rallied to be second against maiden $20,000 stock; now drops to the maiden cellar at Churchill, running for $10,000; should be able to run these down with a number of cheap speeds in the race. WALKER’S WAY has run well against maiden $20,000 company this year at Fair Grounds, first with a second on turf and then with a fourth on dirt in a race run in the slop and taken off the grass; her four dirt races have been respectable, but trainer Greg Foley has run her eight times on turf - so he obviously feels that is her preferred surface. OUT OF THE OFFICE may have stamina limitations but has the early speed to get a good trip from the outside; perhaps can last for a piece at a price.
