BEST BET: RACE 6, GO ASTRAY

FIRST RACE

A SQUARE TO SPARE succumbged grudgingly as 7-5 choice when dropped into this category for the first time earlier in session. Worked solid half-mile on dirt for return run vs. same kind. One more chance. VENTINA and FLYING GIRL have also showed some zip in the a.m. since their most recent tries, might be in for improved efforts in opener.

SECOND RACE

BETTABE FAST well spotted off the claim to return quick dividends after narrow mimsses vs. better in last pair. Taken to prevail if getting early drop on chief rival PERFECT STATE who remains winless in 14 tries but also exiting a couple of decent showing s vs. similar. JUST AL IL BIT STORM Y has been away now plunges to bottom for first time off bullet half-mile over PM sod.

THIRD RACE

ALL ABOUT VOODOO a son of multiple G1 turf winner Vooddoo Dancer and kin to Voodoo Storm looks like another Pletcher maiden ready to score here at first asking. Little separating RUN TIME, SLAIMY and even Little No Way for what would be the minor awards should top choice perform as expected. R T finished 3rd behinid 7/5 Hieroglyphics and 6/5 Robusto in last when rallying to career best Beyer effort.

FOURTH RACE

TWENTY AND FOUR missed less than a length to Express Jet two back and that one might be odds on in this spot. Should get enough pace to run at with MACH MY DAY, WHOOP TI DO and Pom Pom all expected to show early foot. Mach My Day a pretty consistent sort from a Beyer standpoint but a bit of a hanger when not having his head in front turning for home.

FIFTH RACE

A pretty paceless race with the m aiden Grace B likely to show the way early but still appears to be a rematch between FAMILY MEETING and SOMETHINGELSE who finished a head apart in Distaff Turf at Tampa. BITACORA exiting career best effort in the Christmas Past but another who comes from far back in the pack and at the mercy of pace scenario..

SIXTH RACE

GO ASTRAY, the day’s best, showed big speed only to prove no match for Pletcher firster and even money Stainless in her last. Was beaten a head by 1/5 R Paper Chaser in previous outing. May not be meeting those kind here. CRAZY FOR SOFIA looks best of the new faces. Has shown good speed in the a.m. but with no published gate works showing on resume’ HOLY DIVER ran better than it might look on paper after breaking poorly, putting in huge mid-race run debuting on turf.

SEVENTH RACE

SCHETTINO exits sharp showing, career best Beyer vs. same kind in second off the layoff, gets shaky nod if able to trip out from the rail. GOLDEN POINT a bit of a hanger but dons shades for new connections, looking for improved try with Tyler G. up. LAY IT DOWN a bit of a hanging sort of late but always a good fit with this kind.

EIGHTH RACE

HAYBUB nicely spotted for his debut and off a couple of bullets at P M. Will have to likely beat DARDO who had nightmare trip, still ran second in only previous start but with some funky action and a bit suspicious wheeling back for this price off that effort. MONGOLIAN DANCER had little chance from impossible post making first start for new connections. Switches to dirt, expect major improvement at a price.

NINTH RACE

DREAM SHOT gets tepid nod if able to set up shop stalking likely pace of B K Masterkey dropping to weakest level yet off a couple off solid main track drill. GREAT SKELLIG perhaps the best of these everything being equal off last try but must work out a trip from extreme outside post at relatively short price. CZARMO finished fourth in a race which produced trio of next out winners when last seen on the grass but another who will have to get lucky into club turn from today’s post.

TENTH RACE

CRAZY FRANK C second best behind CAPITAL CITY on 5/20 but ran well considering the slow start, wide trip. Might just turn the tables with a little better racing luck. PHISH FAN steadied lacking room turning for home with same bunch last month, bounced back to beat similar on mud, another likely in thick of it throughout. CAPITAL CITY has beaten this bunch twice running, goes for hat trick, obviously capable if securing another clean run.

ELEVENTH RACE

ENTERPRISING the class of field in finale, need only repeat any of his most recent efforts to prove prompt favorite in final leg of Rainbow 6. Stable mate TWO STEP TIME comes off another solid try when beaten a neck by KEEPTHEDREAMALIVE despite wide trip at a mile on 5/4 and an upset threat should preferred one falter. Keepthedreamalive certainly hard to fault in his present form as well, should sit nice trip stalkinig likely pace of Piloting who’d get second billing behind Royal Squeeze if this one happens to get moved to the main track.
