BEST BET: RACE 2, DIAMOND BACHELOR

FIRST RACE

BITOMAGIC beat a decent bunch of N2L’s for half this tag in his last start including Matthews Mystery who has since returned to capture two straight including an N3L for $12,500 in his most recent start. Barn owns good mark with new acquisitions, gets slight edge in current form. ADAGIO ran well behind Matthews Mystery 11 days earlier and already a winner vs. this same kind on 5/11. Should catch enough pace to run at once again today. FOREST WALTZ the only other multiple winner in the field along with top pair, has been freshened some since finishing slow starting second eight weeks earlier.

SECOND RACE

DIAMOND BACHELOR, the day’s best, should be able to control the day’s main event from start to finish, can benefit from recent try around 3 turns when finsihing in front of Mystic Sky who flattered race by upsetting stakes here Saturday. BASHART, the preferred one’s uncoupled mate, makesart since August and winless for quite some time but at his best could might be able to handle the others. JR‘ S HOLIDAY in new hands since another disappointing allowance outing here on 5/4. Has been off best game for quite some time, might find renewed life in this barn.

THIRD RACE

FORTY KILOS caught a couple of fast ones in Pletcher firster Stainless and recent maiden winner Go Astray in her latest, should appreciate the class relief dropping to this much softer level. Might prove right one if none of the firsters can run. TIZABLIZZARD flashed some speed from the gate on 6/10 and is out of a mare who was a 2-year-old winner herself. Looks as good as any of the newbies. MAIS OUI D’OR has had a couple of gate works under her belt and lures top jock for the assignment. Tabbing board for further clues to this one perhaps the best idea.

FOURTH RACE

AQUEMINI continues to hold her form extremely well although was a beaten favorite when drop- ping back off soft pace, hung wide trying elders for first time last month. Gaffalione stays and with plenty of pace to soften things up for her closing kick. Gets back on winning track in here. THINKIN COWTOWN stretches out off solid sprint run off an extended vacation, figures forwardly stretching back around two turns. May prove one to beat. FIRST ILLUSION idle since running recent SW Somethingelse to close decision last fall. Shows steady series of solid works in preparation for her return but likely to face a good deal of early pace pressure off the bench from several in this lineup.

FIFTH RACE

MORENO MOJO back to what appears his favorite surface. Ran extremely well for higher tag on 3/16 when fourth in a field that included three next out winners including runner-up Shamcat, who defeated maiden $75K rivals next out in N Y and Union Riches, an MSW winner in his next try at Tampa. Stretch running sort will need some help up front, primarily with GOLDEN DECISION who looks loose on the lead if hustled along from his outside post. Survived early duel only to succumb grudgingly at the end, with blinkers added, last time vs. similar. LITTLE CRISTIAN knocking on the door at this level. Hard to leave out of the equation for at least a share.

SIXTH RACE

STAR BABY shortens up in distance and drops in class after weakening late ovrer wet track chasing relatively swift pace vs. better in her most recent try. Seems somewhat improved since adding

blinkers, can get back on winning track in this weaker spot. SILKTALE totally overmatched last time after decent maiden win. Figures forwardly place throughout with cleaner beginning here. U

S DIVA sheds blinkers, stays put off the claim, finished just a neck behind Loving Valentina 2 back, that one returning to beat much better by open lengths in her next start.

SEVENTH RACE

GABRIELLESTOBLAME dwelt at the start, raced greenly but showed some promise in her debut now adds blinkers and with many more works under her belt in preparation for second try. Well bred filly is a half to Nyquist although right back on turf again today. CRAVE second best behind odds on winner here last month and perhaps somewhat of a hanging type but strictly the one to fear after pairing up Beyer tops in last two tries. MAGICAL SKY a half to G1 winner We Miss Artie by Sky Mesa and with steady diet of works under her belt prepping for her bow. Must respect right off the bench.

EIGHTH RACE

SURPRISE WEDDING ran lights out off the ben ch in her debut and training extremely well for her return from lengthy hiatus. Proved competitive with several of the key contenders here in the Juvenile Fillies Sprint despite wide trip that day. Slight nod in extremely wide open 3yo filly dash. LIRICA a four time winner coming off dull showing albeit vs. elders in the slop. Beat this same kind two back. THREAT looks like controling speed, ran well from tough post after setting lively pace from rail first off the claim for present connections. May stand some catching.

NINTH RACE

D’CRAZINESS was hard held early before registering narrow win in most recent try vs. same kind and should be able to get loose, perhaps relax on the lead in this relatively paceless but very wide open turf affair. Gets slight edge to hold on once again if able to slow things down as expected up front. DIAZ a model of consistency who runs well with time between races. One of several other win threats with a trip. J C MONBA beat softer returning from long layoff and will have to step up game a notch to compete with these, although he’s shown in past he’s capable of running with this kind. Might offer some value. Padilla another likely win threat at h is best. Steadied some during middle stages behind preferred choice last time although failed to really has his best kick at the end when clear.

TENTH RACE

LITTLE LEO showed big improvement on stretch out at second asking when beaten by a17-1 first time starter in relatively well graded race. Has had three subsequent works under belt in preparation for 3rd start of form cycle. Gets slight edge in yet another head scratcher with many potential contenders to consider in finale. OUR BOSS stretches back around two turns, should be able to control this one a long way on the front end. Was not badly beaten for $50K after setting contested pace earlier this winter. COMMANDER WISE has been freshened, appears to be working well after disappinting claiming bow. Might wake up at a much better price at this level. Word on the Street quiite logical off first two career starts and having been gelded since then, although away a long time and with only four works under belt prepping for return. Could prove vulnerable at another short price.
