BEST BET: RACE 5, B BRAZIN

FIRST RACE

MAC’S HONEY is bred to like the grass and just ran well when first time on the weeds. This filly has shown speed in the past but passed a runner last out. Second time on the sod is a plus as is this inside post. GRETA is by a 1 for 7 debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green. Lone grass sib is 6-1-3-0 for 15K. Is this mare a new Lasix horse? Turf breeding is solid. GIA MAMA MIA just missed only three back in a grass sprint at Gufstream. So, why is she here? She just went to Lone Star and disappointed. She did break second to last in Dallas. Her best wins this but not so sure about current form. RWANDA is by a 7% debut turf sire. Her dam went 4-1-2-0 on the grass for 15K. This is dam’s first grass foal. QUICK RAE RAE is by a 3% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the grass and this is her first grass foal.

SECOND RACE

LOST DOVE showed speed in her debut before spitting the bit. Then she caught a sloppy Joe surface in her second start and showed zero speed as if she hated the wet. This is dam’s first foal. The blinkers go ON. PRIMAL PAST ran much better last out when first out on this dirt. Last chance for a good price? GIRLS LIFE was stuck on the rail in her debut and then broke last. Typical. She still beat over half the field home in said debut. A better post today and the one to beat with Eramia up. GOLDEN BOMBSHELL is by a 10% debut sire. Her dam went 11-2-1-2 for 52K. Lone sib is 2-0-00. ANITA BONITA is by a 5% debut sire. Her dam went 17-1-1-3 for 14K. Of 5 sibs to race, 4 won. YANKEE’S FANNY is by a 13% debut sire. Her dam went 46-8-10-7 for 382K. Of 4 sibs to race, 2 won.

THIRD RACE

HANSEN’S HOLIDAY is by a 17% debut turf sire. His dam went 7-2-0-2 for 48K on the green and this is her first grass foal. This gelding ran well in his debut and even got some play at almost 6-1. He should be better around two turns and on the grass. NOISEY BOY is extremely unlucky to lose multiple photo finishes in his last two starts. He is proven on this sod and goes second off the layoff. The one to beat for sure. GHOST WARRIOR was stuck in the 10 hole before the layoff and that’s a possible excuse. We like that connections have tried nothing but turf routes for this gelding. He tries easier today and owns a bullet work. GO TEMPLE GO is by a 8% debut turf sire. His dam went 16-1-6-6 for 174K. One of three sibs won on the grass with the other two hitting the board. RED WINED UP is by a 0 for 6 debut turf sire. His dam went 3-0-0-2 on the green for $1,592. This is her first foal to try the green.

FOURTH RACE

MAUK’S TRIBUTE will be a good price as will everyone else as long as the big chalk stays in (the 4). It is nice to see this gelding put races together. He is solid on this dirt and draws well for upcoming stalking trip. MAN OF VALOR just ran better. Maybe he is coming around. He was a win machine on this dirt last summer. HANEY has the best figs and drops in class all while third off the layoff. Is this drop too much?

FIFTH RACE

B BRAZIN, today’s best bet, is a new turf horse. Race flow is better today than turf tries 1 and 3 back. We love this inside draw to save some early ground. This guy was double digits in his last four starts. VALSE is a solid turf runner that goes second time this sod and third in current form cycle. There is a lot of speed in here if all stay in. A better price than many of these. SOUTHERN MISTER is feeling great as he goes for four in a row. First time this sod is the X factor. Nice to see regular jock get a leg up.

SIXTH RACE

SAINT DOMINIC didn’t fire last out but took some time off as if something went awry. Lots and lots of works since. Castillo gets a leg up and he is 24% with this barn at the meet (15% otherwise). Race flow should favor off the pace style. FLYING MACHINE wants to pass runners. Current form looks OFF but that is why you will get a good price. Let’s say the time off helps. J/T shows a flat bet profit. THREE TWO ONE has won twice on this dirt

in only seven starts. Those efforts 2 and 3 back at EvD certainly fit here. A new jock for this in Kevin Smith. IMPRESSIVE STUDENT is improving by the minute. He has never run poorly on the grass and beat first time winners before the break as the chalk. Winning from the 11 hole to break his maiden on the FG turf was no easy task either. He is working up a storm. Older foes and stakes foes at that is a tough nut to crack but we like the confidence shown for this homebred. BENWILL has won on this sod before. Layoff lines are just the norm for this guy now. He gets good race flow. TRUST FACTOR has some speed but can stalk just as easily. His turf figs are very good but he has yet to try this sod.

EIGHTH RACE

SAVE YOUR BREATH is feeling good and is a new turf horse. He has some speed and draws inside which should make for a good trip. ROCKETRINGO has speed and stretches-out. No choice but to gun for the front end, right? He has run well twice on this sod. You gotta figure that the other speeds let this one go early as no one wins a speed duel. SALUTE THE L T J G keeps Eramia and drops in class. Beaten favorite in his last couple. Added distance might help. A very good turf barn calls the shots.
