BEST BET: RACE 6, RENAISANCE FROLIC

FIRST RACE

LOOK IT LINDA makes second start off the layoff, could get loose and brave on the front end. Registered maiden win around two turns. AUGUST LILLY on the shelf since big effort vs. same kind six weeks earlier. One to beat. TACO WAYNE’S SHOT back to her most effective surface, expecting improvement today.

SECOND RACE

SOUTACHE towers over this field off his last. Hard to ignore even at the short price. HIGHBORN no match for preferred choice in the Affirmed but on the improve and with enough experience to merit nod over the others. MARANATHA dons shades after hanging late in first two starts. Figures forwardly from the outset, just a question of whether he can stretch this far.

THIRD RACE

IN a field where the highest Beyer is a whopping 36, got to look for a new face so why not ROCK AND RATTLE who has limited work tab to go by but obviously wouldn’t have to be much to beat these off the bench for O/T combo with good numbers placing newbies. ED’S ROCKET broke from tough inside gate in his debut, gets ample class relief, expecting big improvement here. MR. MORNINGSTAR showed big improvement on the drop and with addition of blinkers. The logical choice.

FOURTH RACE

GALTON may not have relished the somewhat softer courses he encountered in both starts since haltered by present connections last spring at CD. Might make amends if getting firm ground today. GALLEON MAST the logical choice off his last pair and in current form, should catch plenty of pace to run at once more. J R ‘S HOLIDAY has shown improvement in last couple since switching barns. Can come running for major share at a price.

FIFTH RACE

C K DEXTER HAVEN second best in his debut behind a well mean Jason Servis first time starter who finished full of run to win going away. Easily handled the others, should benefit from the experience in a field dominated by new faces. COOL MOVER also has a race under his belt, that coming on grass, but working well subsequent to that try. Might wake up at big balloons for barn which has strong ROI with second time starters. AEQUOR a half to SW Just Google, brought $140K at Keeneland Sept. ‘16 and with a bullet on the resume’ for this.

SIXTH RACE

RENAISANCE FROLIC, the day’s best, should catch plenty of pace to run at returning from Kentucky Downs where he made nice middle move before fading late against a solid bunch of stakes foes. Not meeting that kind here. FLYING LIBERTY led throughout to graduate in first try around two turns although not likely to see the lead as readily in this spot. DIAL ONE also figures part of early mix returning to grass, stretching out around two turns but a question mark getting the distance off his breeding at what figures to be a relatively short price.

SEVENTH RACE

Just trying to get a little creative in a very weak field of bottom level maidens, will try to put GOLDEN ROSIE on the lead, might get brave if she does on turn back to 6 1 2/ furs. HOPEFUL ANGEL idle since finishing good third going a mile here last spring. Just a question of how fit she is off the bench. OLA YOLA in the money in four of last five tries at this level, hard to leave out of the equation somewhere.

EIGHTH RACE

REGAL KITTEN dueled, held gamely when returning to this level two weeks earlier. Already defeated open $10K company here last spring. FAIR PROSPECT has not had the best of trips while a beaten favorite in each of his last three starts for this tag. In good hands off the claim, will try to reverse recent decision vis a vis preferred choice on 9/16. GEAR JAMMER stepping up but hard to fault in present form.

NINTH RACE

FOREST GATOR has been gelded since haltered out of winning effort back on 7/22, his effort flattered that day when 3rd finisher Harasan returned to earn his diploma at next asking. Lures Gaffalione, well spotted to take another. THAT CHARLIE has switched barns since near miss with this same kind 29 days earlier. One to fear. DREAMY MARTINI gets both some class and perhaps a little distance release turning back to 5 1/2 furlongs off series of longer tries. May come running at the end.

TENTH RACE

SUSIE BEE returns to her favorite course having posted four of her five career wins locally. Beat several of these in key Christmas Past Stakes on 5/27. Deserves top billing from off what should be an honest enough pace. MIZZ MONEY game in defeat in the wasted Tears, figures forwardly throughout once again. KING’S GHOST one of two in here from Wolfson barn along with idled Inside Out, hung late last time but another who could benefit from a hot pace.

ELEVENTH RACE

RAZORBACK LADY ran well in defeat behind much more experienced rival on 9/2 and should benefit from the outing. Kin to $211K earner C D Gold. HONOR INDY has been burning watches up at Palm Meadows and is a half to multiple G3 placed True Timber. FIGARELLA’S QUEEN brought quarter of a million at Keeneland Sept. ‘16 but may be bred more for turf than dirt.

TWELFTH RACE

SOLDAT HOUSE gets shaky nod despite the fact she enters stakes still a maiden. Like her experience and pedigree to stay this distance which is a question mark for many of the other key contenders. GIFT OF GLORY has already proven her mettle at the distance and exiting her best yet. HOMEMADE SALSA ran well in her debut going 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt, is a bit of a question stretching out and holding that form on turf. Is a half to G1 placed Conquest Two Step who did win once on grass.

THIRTEENTH RACE

DESSERT HONEYS likely best of this bunch in the Susan’s Girl but for getting hung wide throughout, racing greenly. Has since posted bullet work at Churchill alongside older, multi-wiinning stable mate, need only get a cleaner run to win the stakes as a maiden. AWESOME MASS a major disappointing in opening two legs of this series but has breeding to suggest she’ll improve around two turns. One more chance. UNSTABLENTHEMORNIN goes turf to dirt and with two turn experience that may serve her well with these. Starship Bonita defeated preferred choice with perfect trip in Susan’s Girl and working well since the outing but must overcome tough post draw in rematch.

FOURTEENTH RACE

GUIDONIA showed major improvement stretching around two turns, adding blinkers, ready to graduate for hot barn although does lose Gaffalione to NICKY’S WARRIOR who drops off much needed bow. Should improve from the experience. One to beat. FAITHFUL SUE ran well in her first try on grass, drops again, hard to ignore. Cape and Livin Splendor intriguing players here but must overcome tough posts at this distance.
