ANALYSIS

- BEST BET: RACE 3, SON WILL

FIRST RACE

BOSTON MINE doesn’t have to beat much and has better upside than all of these. Did she just lose with a clear late lead? Yes, but it was only her second turf start and first on this sod. She was also 2 clear of the third place runner. GONE TO DIXIE has a penchant for second yet often gets bet (favored twice in last five starts). Grinding style is no help with today’s sluggish pace. QUACK QUACK tries this sod for the first time. Her most recent was a troubled trip on the dirt. Her turf breeding is actually good. Any chance she just didn’t like the grass at Gulfstream proper? LU LU BELLE is by a 7% debut turf sire. Her dam missed the board in lone turf try. Two sibs failed to win on the green but one did hit the board.

SECOND RACE

PLAYERS LUCK did cost 170K. Either he loves this dirt or he learned to relax and pass runners in his most recent. Race flow is fine as long as the 4 and 5 remain in. Trainer stats are solid across the board. J/T combo is a nice 43%. NFUSION ran great in his lone appearance on this dirt. He can pass runners and that fits with possible fast pace. Is he best when fresh? Time to find out. STORMING MY WAY is the inside speed. He has never missed the exacta on this dirt.

THIRD RACE

SON WILL is by a 1 for 5 debut turf sire. His dam was un-raced. Both sibs finished second in their only turf tries ($3,400 and $1,400). The Bourke barn is 3 for 4 with their first time turf runners. This gelding just ran a Beyer top in Pennsylvania. Class drop and surface switch could bring about a new top. CHIEF WHITE SOX is speed on the rail. This gelding tried a turf route in his debut and ran great at Tampa and that is never easy. This gelding was pulling two back and that is often tiring. If able to get an early breather, he could prove troublesome to run down. SUPER JAK did little in his debut but we can forgive that. Two of seven sibs beat winners on the grass with the best being full brother Bridgetown (22-9-6-3 on the grass for 993K). This barn is 27% with second time starters and 21% on the turf. We originally had this gelding on top. LOST KINGDOM is by a 12% debut sire and a 14% debut turf sire. His dam was un-raced. Three of four sibs won and all three beat winners. Two of four sibs won on the grass with the best having banked 88K (6 for 26).

FOURTH RACE

HOLD ON EMMA went favored in her debut and won nicely. Her second start wasn’t as good but it was first time winners and first time turf. Her turf breeding isn’t that hot anyway. Race flow is perfect. PAINTED ON JEANS just ran evenly on the grass and got a Beyer top in the process. Added furlong might help her the most. FLASHING DIAMOND is working well. She can pass runners. We just liked how she broke her maiden. First time winners is no picnic but we think connections have found a good spot. Could she be forgotten on the tote again?

FIFTH RACE

RACINGS MY GAME has already beaten winners but is eligible for this due to 3YO status. This is the time of the year that 3YO’s catch up to older foes. It won’t be hard to find this gelding early as he is all speed. Why is this speed horse often a good price? He got an 81 Beyer earlier this year on the Tampa turf. Maybe a new sod is what he wants and needs. THORISTIC is just solid. Yikes, he has lost his last two as the chalk. He has run well here before just on the dirt as a maiden. This barn is 21% off a short rest. GRAN CHIEF just won nicely

even if his Beyer only came back a 57. He does have some good turf breeding. He got a 67 Beyer in his turf debut you know. Maybe he isn’t done improving. MISTER MONK is by a 3% debut turf sire. His dam went 14-0-2-3 on the green for 24K. One of three sibs won on the grass while another hit the board. ARTY’SBOURBONGIRL may not have cared for a sloppy Joe track in her last few. She is an elongated sprint specialist. She even has some speed in a race without much zip. Local tab is another plus at 6-2-2-0. DAKOTA EYES is a horse for course that can win off a layoff. This barn is 31% off this type of a layoff. Double layoff lines are a bit of a concern though. What if this mare just responds well to Camacho? COLLEGE HOLLY loves an off track if the umbrellas come out.

SEVENTH RACE

UNCLE JUNIOR is by a 11% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green and this is her first foal to try the sod. Few are better with first turfers than Jason Servis (34%). This barn is 30% with their youngsters. This filly cost 75K even though sire fee is only 10K. Lots and lots to like if this gal takes to the weeds. GRAN LETIZIA is by a 9% debut turf sire. Her dam went 12-3-3-1 on the green for 135K (won her turf debut). We spy two sibs but neither tried the grass. Trainer stats are mostly very good except for turf sprinters at 4%. Still, turf breeding is quite good. TRAPPED AT SEA gets good race flow and wants to pass runners. There was nothing wrong with her solid debut. THREE SOCKS ONE is by a 19% debut turf sire. Her dam went 2-0-0-1 on the green (4K). Lone sib is 2-0-0-0 on the green. DRINKS ON MAGGIE is by a 8% debut sire and a 7% debut turf sire. Her dam went 11-2-1-0 for 85K (83K on the grass). This is her first foal to race. KAYLIE’S GIRL is by a 9% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. One of three sibs won on the grass.

EIGHTH RACE

DECANT just won nicely when breaking her maiden. We also like how she won. Turf breeding is good. She has worked three times since breaking her maiden and we love that. Fourth or fifth choice on the tote, right? NOBLE READY goes for high powered connections and cost a cool hundred grand. She didn’t get the best of trips off the layoff. AQUEMINI always gets hammered on the tote. Beyer top of 73 is a bit light versus these. Lone local start was rock solid. 21001 NW 27th Avenue Miami, FL 33056 (305) 625-1311 Main track: One Mile, oval. Distance from last turn to finish line: 990 Feet. Turf course: Seven Furlongs.
