BEST BET: RACE 8, MAJESTIC SLEW

FIRST RACE

After getting bumped at the break, RED BO rallied outside for third on a speed-favoring track against tougher $10K maidens Oct. 13. KYSLIOS’S JUSTICE checked in fourth after saving ground in mid-pack in the aforementioned event. SHANTY TOWN is dropping to a logical spot after getting dusted in a key $16K turf route. Use HESASHREWDDUDE in the tri and super.

SECOND RACE

CRACK THAT WHIP outlasted $25K distaffers two back on the grass in her second outing of the meet. She’s coming off a good third in an N1X on the Tapeta, from which the winner exited to beat N2X stock ( 75 Beyer). MISS MANDATE is stepping up off a decisive victory over $ 20K conditioned opposition and a claim. PHIL’S GLORY is tagged for just the second time following two-month absence. Note that she won her last turf attempt.

THIRD RACE

FOREVER BOLD dueled up front along the rail before tiring over an anti-speed track first-time out vs. OS maiden special types. She could make all the running in this $ 25K maiden claimer. MISS G NOTE failed to stay a mile and 70 yards against OS maiden special types in her latest, but should rebound on the turnback to three-quarters. MISGUIDED PASSION is competing with a selling price for the first time after two straight lackluster performances in OS company.

FOURTH RACE

PRETTY LADY is hard to go past off her wide fifth in the G1 Natalma, behind the Breeders’ Cup entrants Capla Temptress, Dixie Moon and Wonder Gadot. She was previously second against males in her debut. POWER EMPIRE missed the break before closing for third behind the future stakes-placed runner Avie’s Mineshaft at first asking around two turns on the Tapeta. She possesses some grass breeding. Save AUNTIE KATHERINE, ULTRALIGHT BEAM and SCAT GAMBLE for the lower rungs of the exotics.

FIFTH RACE

After running big against maidens, FINE GRIT struggled in his last few for $10K— a very wide trip led to his downfall in his penultimate race. He’s being reunited with Johnson, and could get back on track with the drop to the lowest NW2 level. WILSHIRE STAR is plunging from $20K NW2 company to where he could make most or all of the running. I AM WHO I AM is coming off a subpar showing in a long sprint. He battled three-wide for the lead before fading to third in a deceptivelygood effort the time before around two turns. FIERY BEAR lacked a clear path in deep stretch two weeks ago.

SIXTH RACE

STARSHIP JUBILEE sticks out on class and Beyers in this overnight stakes. She’s been competi- tive in G2 company throughout the meet, and wisely bypassed the G1 E.P. Taylor in favor of this 100- grander. Campbell inherits the mount from Da Silva, who’s riding in the Breeders’ Cup. PERDONA has won three straight allowances at different tracks leading up to this her stakes debut. Wilson captured an N1X turf sprint for this trainer here in July. MIDNIGHT CROSSING worked super the other day, five- eighths in a bullet :59.80 on the Tapeta, and could be the sleeper. Use her on the bottom of intra-race wagers, along with BOREALE and STELLA ROSE.

SEVENTH RACE

KATRINA’S WAY has been knocking on the door at this $20K NW2 class, and appears to have found a field that she can wire. Boulanger has posted solid numbers for this high-percentage barn. AFLEET

DOLL ran evenly for third behind the top pick here Sept. 27, after which she checked in second in a turf dash at Fort Erie. KHAWLAH is adding blinkers after being a minor player on the grass under Lermyte, who doubled up the other day. Toss HOCKEY HAIR in the super.

EIGHTH RACE

MAJESTIC SLEW took four of seven starts at the meet, and has had a little break since ending up third in the slow-paced Bold Venture Stakes. He drew ideally on the outside in this five-horse allowance prep for the Kennedy Road Stakes, and could mow down the speed after a stalking trip. IKERRIN ROAD made a wide bid into contention last time before flattening out to fourth over soft turf in the G2 Nearctic. He won the G3 Bold Venture on the Tapeta with the aid of an inside bias. YORKTON came up empty after being steadied on the turn in the Nearctic. He’s done most of his optimum running up front, and figures to give it a big speed try if he gets away cleanly.

NINTH RACE

CAPE ZAVATA prevailed at a huge price over the hard-knocking Gentleman Jackson the last time he turned back from a route to seven furlongs in his next-to last start. He’ll try to duplicate that feat here on the drop from $12.5K to $ 6.25K. MACHITO got away slowly and then awaited room on the turn before closing for the win in a route at this price Oct. 8. BUTTERFLY STRIKE comes off a third behind two classy rivals in a $ 5K tilt. RUNAWAY PEPPER worked fast last Saturday, and his trainer has good stats second-time off the claim.
