BEST BET: RACE 9, LEAVEM IN MALIBU

FIRST RACE

GIZMO JONES raced four-wide throughout while closing from sixth to win a recent $10K B route with a 69 Beyer. The three-time winner remains eligible for the same race because he’s a sophomore. Note that he worked a quick half the other day. MARTINI KID is halving in value and moving out from a seven-furlong sprint, in which he ran third behind the next-out winner Escondera. CROWN PRINCE went four-wide on the first turn before closing for second behind GIZMO JONES in his best fall outing Nov. 5.

SECOND RACE

CONQUEST ELIMINATR couldn’t keep up two back in a tough N1X won by the upwardly mobile First Premio, who came right back to clear the N2X condition. He led most of the way when second over yielding ground while dropping to this level a month ago, and could wire this group on the main track. TISHINA ran to his good works when taking an off-the-turf route after a wide journey as an MTO at first asking Oct. 28. MACHO DANCER is adding Lasix off a fade job on the grass, which came on the heels of his triumph in a maiden special on the Tapeta.

THIRD RACE

ICE FESTIVAL is 0 for 7 with six shares at the meet. She finished a close second in both the G3 Maple Leaf and the nine-furlong allowance prep for that 10-furlong tilt, and should break through in this N3X/optional claimer. STELLA ROSE looks next best off a lapped-on third in the River Memories Stakes, going the mile and a sixteenth distance of this event. SPARKLES’ GIRL has been freshened since she defeated OS opposition in the Sept. 24 Classy ‘N Smart Stakes.

FOURTH RACE

LYLA LORRAINE awaited room on the turn before coming on for third in a longer sprint at this $20K B level Nov. 8. She finished a clear second vs. males the last time she competed over six furlongs in a $20K NW2 contest Sept. 23. BOATHOUSE VIEW was softened up in a speed duel in an N1X three weeks ago. She has other speed to deal with in this much easier spot, but could be the dominant frontrunner. ROCKPORT DANCER got wiped out at the break before rallying strongly to beat $20K NW2 stock in her latest.

FIFTH RACE

WANDOFUHR had worked brilliantly prior to his opener, in which weakened late after pressing the pace from a three-wide position, over an anti-speed track. The three-quarter brother to stakes winner Will She and stakes-placed Sweet Grass Creek is bred for the grass, and should be prominent if he draws in. The debuting Maryland shipper GUNNISON is a half-brother to the G1-winning turf millionaire Divisidero. SAY THE WORD was second after a three-wide trip on yielding turf at Laurel in a two-turn maiden special Nov. 4. VIEWFINDER is a three-quarter brother to turf stakes winner Shake Down Baby.

SIXTH RACE

MARTEN RIVER had yet another booming work the other day, and could be the speed of the speed in this six-furlong N1X. Campbell, who was aboard for all three of his victories, returns after a onerace absence. BOLD HOPE got a career high 82 Beyer when parlaying a three-wide stalking trip into a daylight score in a five-furlong starter Oct. 22. AYE AYE CAPTAIN is capable of picking up some of the pieces under Da Silva, who gets the most run from him.

SEVENTH RACE

SUNNY’S RAINBOW is adding blinkers off a wide fifth in a similar spot, and his trainer excels second-time off the claim. In a field without much early foot, expect him to show more speed than usual. DAYLIGHT BREEZE rallied from the back of the pack to finish a hanging second in each of his last three outings. NUPOGODI closed along the rail from well back to end up third behind the latter Nov. 4. CONQUEST SWAGMAN could be a speed threat off the claim.

EIGHTH RACE

SISTER NATION has been pointed to this G2 fixture since taking the Oct. 8 Ruling Angel Stakes for 3yo fillies with an 85 Beyer. Seven-eighths is a suitable distance for the stretch-runner, who retains money rider Da Silva after working quickly. MOONLIT PROMISE came four-wide from a stalking position last time to land her second consecutive stakes in the six-furlong Ontario Fashion. MINKS APRISE has been working up a storm since her wide/closing second behind MOONLIT PROMISE in the G3 Ontario Fashion. SCOTTY’S MODEL is stepping up following her third straight win in allowance/optional-claiming company.

NINTH RACE

LEAVEM IN MALIBU had a troubled run along the inside in the stretch before finishing fourth with a career high 89 Beyer Nov. 1. The strapping bay should enjoy clear sailing here after breaking from the outside post in his first start under Patrick Husbands. KASSEOPIA rallied powerfully to beat N1X rivals after breaking about five lengths behind the others Oct. 14. GLENVILLE GARDENS is the class of the field, but the multiple stakes winners prefers turf over the Tapeta.

TENTH RACE

DISCREET DAN placed in two of his last three excursions against pricier opposition. With Da Silva at the reins again, he could have these $8K maidens within his sights. LUCKY B. N. finished second in three of his four starts, most recently behind a runaway winner who was taking an edge. D’S DOUBLE EAGLE raced six-wide on the turn before ending up fifth for $12.5K in his latest. Use him on the bottom of intra-race wagers, along with HUNTS BAY and SHANTY TOWN.
