BEST BET: RACE 6, SUNFEST FIRST RACE

MEANT TOBE MINE posted far and away her best effort yet dropping in against weak bunch on graduation day, well spotted to take another if able to repeat the effort over this turf course. LEXI’S DOLL turns back to a distance she’s handled in the past, should come flying at the end. ARCH LEGACY ran an improved effort last time across town, can build off the effort if able to get clean run from inside.

SECOND RACE

R SECRET LIFE well spotted on the drop to selling ranks, should use his speed to good advantage the way this track played opening weekend. BURTON shortens up for local bow, has enough gas to keep within hailing distance of the early leader. One to fear. AFFLUENTIAL launched career in a Group 3 race, caught sloppy track, in Puerto Rico now dons shades for drop to maiden ranks. Winner of that contest has posted 2-2-0 mark in four career starts. Tough to gauge but could fit at this level especially if able to move forward with the new equipment.

THIRD RACE

HELEN ROSE looks quickest of the bunch if she leaves running, could not hold advantage across town but could be a different story over this speed favoring strip. FLASHING DIAMOND ran down preferred one at GPW, has been overmatched in last pair. Back to winning spot today. INTACTUS also ini over his head catching wet strip in crosstown finale. Just missed behind F D in pair’s previous encounter.

FOURTH RACE

SALSA CAPUCHINO drops to the bottom for the first time, showed big speed in recent PM work, might have enough of a class edge to graduate if able to stick his head in front from the outset. DRIVEN TO THE MAX a new face to a weak looking category and with plenty of works under his belt prepping for bow including near bullet on 10/24. Wouldn’t have to be much to win at first asking. K K’S REVOLVER comes off best yet when dropped for this tag on 11/17.

FIFTH RACE

LEMON ROYAL has a lot more seconds than wins on his resume but showed big speed in most recent work and seems to run well on this track. Reunites with Saez. Could prove right one today. COTTON COLORS holding form extremely well of late and turning back to perhaps his most effective distance here. Has posted both career wins on local soil. Lots to like. RED COTTON no match for top choice albeit on a wet track two back, might run late for minor share. Blew out nicely for this.

SIXTH RACE

SUNFEST comes up tagged for the first time off a decent enough effort at GPW. Been freshened but working well for return to local sod and like the fact Edgard takes this call. MO’S GINNY has always run well in this category and Tyler steps aboard although away since April, may need one off the bench. REINA LA KELSY worked well from gate with addition of blinkers, might outrun odds with expected improvement.

SEVENTH RACE

GOTSOMEMOJO ran third behind red hot Gautier and similarly in form Jagr(see 9th) when last trying the turf on 9/20 and nicely spotted back with open claimers to take another. PURELY BOY gets plenty of class relief, finished late running second with much better two back at CD, should get ample pace help with Powerline in the lineup. REGAL KITTEN returns to his favorite course off the claim, might return quick dividends at his best.

EIGHTH RACE

R LITTLE SECRET a new face to what looks like a relative weak maiden $50K dash and barn does great work placing this kind for early success. By above average debut sire Kantharos. Will tag board for further clues. GALILEO’S AFFAIR has turned in a couple of good efforts both at one turn and around two but up against it a bit considering her running style over what has been a lightning fast strip thus far. MISS SOPHIA’S STAR was well back, hung late catching wet track in bow and exiting a bullet for second try. Johnny V takes the call. Logical on drop to selling company for these connections.

NINTH RACE

Hate the post but love the way JAGR has been running of late. Split a couple of in form rivals, Perfect Tay and Bird Humor, over speed favoring GPW turf. Gets shaky nod if Edgard can work out a trip from the outside. CHARLIE MOPS a very consistent sort from a Beyer standpoint and owns all five lifetime wins over this course. Figures on or with pace throughout. ROBUSTO continues to cycle back to peak form and ran very well here in two previous local tries earlier in the season. Could not quite overcome early trouble behind once beaten 3yo Dance Strike last time.

TENTH RACE

BAYLOR looking to give his sire his first turf winner and well spotted to do just that off near miss against state breds when last seen seven weeks earlier across town. Need only repeat that effort to graduate with this very average looking group unless a firster like VIOLENT NATURE can run. Sire has thrown a good percentage of grass winners but like the favorite will have to overcome compromising post at this distance. TRAPPED AT SEA ran okay despite getting knocked around at the break while adding blinkers for second career start. Must prove mettle around two turns but fairly obvious off her first couple of tries.
