BEST BET: RACE 3, SERIOUS I CANDY

FIRST RACE

Remington puts on a special Tuesday afternoon card during this final week of the meet. It starts at 3 p.m. Central. GARBO gets the nod in the opener, in part because she’s been right there in each of her last two starts, one of them at this often demanding kind of trip of seven-eighths. WOODHAVEN DIVA looks like a stretch threat on the cutback from two turns. MARI’S GATE is another turnback prospect and she is appealing for her consistent nature.

SECOND RACE

COLE CAMP has sharpened his skills for the turnback in distance with a three-eighths work since his most recent start. A question is dirt - and one turn - since he’s done his best work to date at two turns on turf, but he gets some pedigree support for the main track and is moving into the Oklahoma-bred ranks. COLE CAMP is from a mare who placed in three stakes and was a winner of $129K. VIX VISION was just edged on the turnback in distance last time and earned the field’s co-highest last-race dirt Beyer in a distinction shared with the logical BOLD CRUSADER. GOSPEL CARLO is back with statebreds and owns some competitive Beyer Figures.

THIRD RACE

SERIOUS I CANDY invades from Churchill, where she was second in a maiden claiming race at this distance, earning what ranks as this field’s best last-out Beyer Figure. She also draws a post that might give Cabrera options. WILY was second at this distance and level last out and is further appealing as a half-sister to Grade 3 winner Verdana Bold ($331K). KORN FLAKE GIRL exits same race as WILY, finishing third. The start was WILY’S first on Lasix.

FOURTH RACE

GIRL POWER has been on her game all meet long, running second or third in her four starts this season at Remington. All of her efforts came at this level. GIRL POWER has a chance to control the pace against these and is further appealing as a full sister to Now I Know, a Grade 3 winner of $461K. TAXABLE is a Grade 3-placed runner who would be well-served with a decent pace and not sure if she will get what she needs in this spot. Perhaps she will if TITANIUM hooks GIRL POWER. HOLIDAY’S ANGEL is back at Remington Park after racing at Churchill. She hooked a champion when last seen over the local oval, facing wire-to-wire winner Champagne Room in the Remington Park Oaks.

FIFTH RACE

TUFF TALKIN TEXAN is moving back to the sixfurlong distance of his best race to date and for the effort in that Nov. 4 start he earned what ranks as this field’s highest career Beyer Figure. TRINITY BLING is by a stallion who is getting 16 percent juvenile debut winners. TIZ ALLUPTOME NOW is another firster, and he is by a stallion who is getting 19 percent juvenile debut winners. Another of interest is LAW DAY.

SIXTH RACE

DIVINE DANCER makes the meaningful move to the maiden claiming ranks for the first time. He also exits a key race. The seventh-place finisher, Mesa Skyline, came back in his next start to win a maiden allowance at RP with a Beyer of 57, and the eighth-place finisher, Best Discretion, a $20K maiden claimer, with a Beyer of 56. NOTATION was favored against steeper last out and has a high percentage team in Asmussen and Vazquez. ALWAYS A WISEGUY ran well on the cutback last time and could be even sharper here, in his second straight sprint start. He’s appealing as a January foal.

SEVENTH RACE

JILL’S FIREBIRD was just edged against similar

last out and the Beyer Figure of 58 that she earned is the best last-race number in the field. PEMBA should be sharp for the move to two turns off the six furlong start at Churchill. LET THIS BROAD BY has been a consistent sort this meet at Remington.

EIGHTH RACE

VIZZY has class appeal as one who has been facing steeper. She also owns a series of competitive Beyer Figures. LINGERING SALLY has the speed to hold her position from the rail. LINDA HUNNY was second against similar last out and is a logical choice back.

NINTH RACE

GREELEYS CHARM returns to the claiming ranks and he was a sharp winner the last time he ran for a tag. (Note the effort came at this six and a half furlong trip.) NITE OF THE HUNTER has been effective in his recent sprint starts. PHANTOM TRIP figures to be making his case through the lane.
